Laila's POV
I lay in my bed texting King.
Wyd- I texted
Nothing, watching the game wbu ma-King texted
Just laying in my bed bored asf - I said
Want me to come get you ? -King said
It's a school night King- I said
It's only 5:00 , you'll be back by 7, I promise- King said
Okay 🤗, you can come- I said
Bet, I'll be over in 25 minutes Lai 💯- King said
I then locked my phone and sprouted up. I threw on a cute dress and some sandals and brushed my hair down . I decided to go let my Aunt know where I'm going. She don't really gaf but it's still nice to let her know.
"Aunt J I'm going out for a couple of hours" I said as I opened her room door
"You asking or telling" she said
"Asking" I said getting slightly irritated
"Alright, who you going out with ,you bet not be out being fast , I'm not raising no babies little girl " she said
"I'm not , can I go" I said
"Yeah , and don't be out all night" she said
I nodded and walked to the Nia's room. Her and Lani was in there painting there nails and gossiping. They had a much closer bond than I did with Nia. It didn't bother me , but I did miss my sister telling me everything instead of Nia.
"Hey y'all, I'm going out with King for a couple of hours " I said
"Okay , Be careful" They both said and told me to text them
I'm outside Lai -King texted
I waved to them and headed out the door.

"Hey King " I said when I got in the car
"Hey Lai , you look beautiful " he said with a huge smile
"Thank you, " I said blushing
"So where are we going " I said
"You'll see" he said with a grin and just started driving
After about 10 minutes we arrived at this beautiful park. It had a nice lake and beautiful flowers.
"This place looks amazing " I said
"Yeah , it was my favorite spot as a child when I use to come visit my dad and grandparents " he said as he parked in a parking lot.
"Now come on it's a school night remember " he said as he popped the trunk and hopped out.
I followed him to the trunk of his car and he pulled out a picnic basket.
"Ready for our picnic ma" he said with a smile
"Yes " I said softly

We found us a nice place by the lake and laid out the blanket. The basket was full of fruit, chips, juice, crackers, and sandwiches.
"You did all of this for me" I said amazed
" I did it for us" he said as he bit into his sandwich looking all cute .
Damn this boy has me really digging him

King's POV
I decided to take Lai on a picnic. I don't know what it is about her but I really be thinking about her all day. I don't know if it's her smile or how down to earth she is. I feel so comfortable with her , and I never felt this way before. When I'm with her I don't really think about sex, I think about getting to know her . Maybe I can do this relationship shit, well with her ONLY!
"So how you get so cool Lai" I said eating some chips
"Idk , I never been the type to act different around anyone. I don't understand why most people live every moment of their life trying to please others. I just don't have that time or energy. Life is to short to worry about if your being accepted by society, just live your best life " she said with a shrug and a smile
"Your so smart" I said as I reached out and touched her hand
"Ha! You must got me confused with my sister, she's the smart one and I'm just average , nothing special" Lai said
"Aye Lai chill out , you might not be as book smart as her but you have wisdom way beyond your years. Your very special and you need to give your self more credit " I said as I looked into her eyes
"Thank you " she said with a smile
I then leaned over and softly kissed her lips . She must have enjoyed it because when I pulled away she grabbed my chin and kissed me some more.
"Your an amazing kisser " She said with a smile
" Thank you , you can get these lips whenever you like" I said
"I have to ask you an question King" she said
"I'm listening ma" I said
"What are we doing , I mean like do you want a relationship because I'm going to be honest I'm falling for you , and I don't want to get hurt" she said with a sincere look on her face
"Umm, hold on my let me go piss real quick " I said nervously. I had to go think because my emotions were everywhere
"Okay, hurry back and answer my question" she said with a smile
As I walked to the tree , I thought about what Lai said. The look in her eyes was so sincere. She really liked me and who was I to play with her heart. Hell, I really liked her too. Maybe, it was time to stop being a player and admit I had feelings for her as well. Yes, that's what I was going to do!
I finished peeing and began to walk back to the picnic blanket.
"Aye Lai , come here so I can tell you my answer to your question " I said with smile
Lai turned around with tears in her eyes as she held my phone in the air .
So I'm a bet ? She yelled looking furious
