Kalani's POV
I'm sound asleep and I hear the door creep open at 11 o'clock p.m . I turn around to see who it was and it was Lai ass tip toeing in .
"Bitch , where have you been, I had to cover for you for Auntie J" I whispered but it was loud enough for her to hear me
"Thanks Lani, but I lost track of time with King" she whispered back.
"You lost track of time? Wtf were yall doing for 5 ho---- Lai dont tell me you"
"Of course not " she interrupted already knowing what I was hinting at.
"I'll tell you all about it , after I get into my pajamas " Laila said
After she took a shower and was settled she told me all about her afternoon. She told me about the picnic, the bet , and how they ended up just going to his house and watching movies and cuddling. I thought it was very romantic, but I still was skeptical about him. My sister is my whole life , it's been just us since we were kids . We've been hurt enough , and I dont need a guy adding fuel to the fire.
"So are yall officially dating" I asked
"Yes, Lani I never felt this way about any guy , I really hope this works out " Lani said
I didn't know if it was the excitement in her voice or what , but when she said that I couldn't be nothing but happy for her. Our life has been so rough that neither one of us has been excited about anything in a while. Who was I to steal her happiness?
"I'm happy for you sis" I said
She then came over and gave me hug.
" I love you Lani" She whispered
"I love you too hun, now let's get some sleep , we do have school in the morning remember " I said as I turned over in my bed
That night I thought about Kamren until I fell asleep , I wonder where this goes.

The next morning we arrived at school , of course King came and stole my sister as always.
" Excuse me Miss" I heard a familiar voice say from behind me
I turned around , and when I saw Kamren I immediately started blushing.
"Can I walk you to class?" He asked with the cutest smile on his face.
"Yes you may " I said with a smile
As we walked we made small talk.
"So how's Westside high treating you gorgeous " Kamren said
"Oh, it's cool I miss my old friends but this place isn't so bad" I said as I shrugged.
"Nice, Well have you met any new interesting people" he said smiling
"Well, yes I met this one cute guy and he seems very interesting " I said
"Oh really?" He said smiling
"Yeah , but it's not you " I said with a chuckle.
His smile immediately changed to a sad face.
"Haha, got you " I laughed
"Damn, Lani I got slick jealous i was like she gone really call another nigga cute while I'm right here " He said
"Oh so I can't call other guys cute?" I asked smiling
At that moment we arrived at my homeroom.
"I'm just going to say , I call dibs Lani, and I don't like sharing , See you next period so I can walk you to class again " He said as he gave me a hug and turned away to walk to class.
Damnnnnn I like the way this is going!
Kamrens POV
As the bell ranged for next period my mind immediately wondered to Lani. She was beautiful, and very smart. I walked down the hall to her classroom and waited for her to exit.
"Hey Kam " she said with a smile
"Wassup, Gorgeous" I said as we began to walk
"Can I walk you home later" I said
"Sure , I walk with my cousin and sister but I'm sure they wouldn't mind" She said
"Cool , see you then beautiful " I said as we made it to her class.

Later that evening I waited for Kalani at the front of the building.
She walked out with 2 girls and one had to be her twin because they were identical, but Kalani looked better in my eyes.
"Lai and Nia, This is Kamren , Kamren , This is Lai and Nia" Kalani said as she walked towards me
"Heyyyyy" They both said with a smile
" Nice to meet you both" I said as I shook both of there hands.
"Don't hurt my sister Mr." Laila said as she eye balled me
" I would never " I said as I wrapped my arms around Kalani. She started blushing.
Suddenly King walked up and wrapped his arms around Laila. I guess they were dating. I didn't know him that well ,but everybody knew who he was.
"Aye bae , I'll give yall a ride home if you want" he said to Laila .
She looked at Kalani and she shook her head no , but Nia said she'll ride .
"Okay see you back at the house Lani, Take care of my sis Kamren" Laila said
"I will guard her with my life " I said as I pulled her closer to me.
They went with King and me And Kalani started walking home.
"Damn, so you gave up a free ride for me " I said
"Yes , I really was looking forward to our walk home all day and I'm glad it ended up being just us" she said with a smile
"Me too, So tell me more about you " I said
Kalani immediately became an open diary. She told me about her parents and why her and her sister were here. Theirl life had been hard just like mines. I usually didn't tell anyone about my personal life but something about her made me trust her.
"So enough about me , Tell me about you" she said as she walked over and sat on her porch steps because we had arrived at her house.
I looked at the time on my watch and cringed a little because it was after 4 and I knew Joe was gone trip, but I didn't care, she was worth it .
"Well my life has been kind of fucked up as well" I said as I sat on the steps next to her.
I couldn't even finish my sentence before I saw Joe rusty ass truck pull up.
"So this why you always be at coming home late, you out here with your little bitch!" He yelled
I dropped my head immediately because I knew this wasn't about to be pretty.
