A/N: As a writer, sometimes it is a must to listen to my readers' opinions and ideas. Then only I can know and grow letting the story itself to be more interesting and eventually let my imagination go wild~ I would like to take this opportunity to thank Madison and Miranda, for letting me be more expressive in this story.

Memories will last forever, it will leave a scar upon your very mind and it will stay there forever. Reminding you of what you've done and what went wrong. It will hurt and sting a lot. Not physically but mentally...

❝I can never forget.❞

That's what Emily told her. That's what she told everyone.

One pill a day, so all her pain can go away. Well, it's just temperory, the happiness won't last . Everyday, she tried her best to put on that mask to hide her true feeling, telling everyone that she's okay, she is alright ,she will be... fine. Everyday, Miranda would see  Emily in her office working. Her paperwork and designing is like a type of drug so she would be more addicted to it. Everyday, Miranda would see the servants bringing back her untouched meal back to the kitchen. Every night, she would hear sniffles when she past by her bedroom.

It's frustrating.

It's frustrating that she can't help. Seeing Emily like this somehow bring pain to her.She does not know how to even she wants to. That day, in the throne room, the tears of hers triggered her so much, she never seen Emily cried like that. It hurts to know that Emily chose the coward way out to hide her pain than face it

Training become more difficult the more she thought about it ,every bullet that she triggered misses the red dot. Throwing away her gun away out of anger. Stupid, useless, good for nothing!

"Vhao zhere, tiger." Zorin said having to sit beside the angry teenager. "Ze gun ist not ze fault, but you, your skills are lacking, soldier. Vhat ze hell happened to you? You really zhink I can use you in ze battlefield vith zhose skills of yours?" Her voice was harsh, but within all the harshness bury Zorin's concern.

"I-It's Emily." Miranda said, it was true. She can't clear all the thoughts about it and can't focus what's really in front of her.

Zorin scoffed shaking her head. "Did Rip told you all to follow her footsteps? Love on ze battlefield?" Taking out a cigarette, light it up and begin smoking. "Zhat ist juzt ridiculous..."  Puffing out the smoke.

Miranda shrugged her shoulders. Rip never really taught them about love or romance, never did she talk about who interested her the most or who she wants to be with. It does sound ridiculous. "No."

"Vell, I'm pretty sure Rip vas crushed vhen she saw your little friend vith herr Major." Zorin let out a low chuckle, unable to feel the pain of lossing someone.

Yes, she was crushed indeed.

"I, myself can't help you at all, kid. Romance ist  cat beneath me. But, I know a zhing or two about friendships. Sometimes it is best to let zhem be alone for a vhile, but do keep a eye on her. Rip vas like zhat once a long time ago..." Zorin advised, having the small bits of the cigarette to be crush on the ground with her boots as she stood up. "Zhat conclude today's training." And leave, having her big scythe draped upon her shoulders.

Let her be alone for a while?

And why does Emily's issue had anything to do with romance anyway?

Avondale sighed finally finished with Emily's weekly check up. This is truly disappointing to him. Once the little human took a step into his lab, he knows that she did not do well with her health at all. Such troublesome, he has a lot of experiments to attend to but he need to take care of one little human?! Then of course, it is after all his duty to be the Millennium's grand professor.

Emily pulled down her shirt and slowly slipped back into her coat.

"You never listen to me, girl. Look at you all skin and bones. Ze kitchen staff told me zhat you never eat any of zheir food, ist zhat correct?" Avondale asked have to leaned down to her height as he do so.

Emily shook her head timidly. Of all the people she dislike the most will be the Grand professor himself.

"Ha. Vhat are you? You're not a verevolf, girl. You're juzt an ordinary human being." Avondale said having both of his hands on her shoulders. "Just listen to me."

The touch. That familiar touch.

She looked over his hands. Her eyes slowly narrowed.

"Can you... please remove you hands away from me" she warned.

"Come again?"

"Please REMOVE YOUR FILTHY HANDS AWAY FROM ME!!" This time she yelled, raising her voice like she did to Miranda.

Avondale immediately took his hands away from her and taken a few steps backwards. This is the first time he ever seen Emily react like this.

Miranda sprung in when she heard her yelling. "What? What happened?!" Having herself to be in front of Emily protectively like some knight in shining armor.

❝I was being raped. No one came for my help. Why should I help you?!❞

After that misunderstanding, Miranda accompanied Emily back to her bedroom so she can rest. Non of them spoken a word along the way. The atmosphere was already awkward , they even made it more awkward.

"Um... Danke." Emily said, trying to clear the awkwardness between the two of them. "And uh, Major was busy today so he can't accompany me..."

And both if them realised that Rip wasn't in the manor at all too.

"Ha, any time. But listen." Miranda having to turn the human around so she can face her properly. "I'm sorry."

The sudden apology kinda confuses the secretary.

"Whatever for?"

"Look, I know I'm always the last one to know about some certain things. Most of the time, I'm oblivious. But please don't hide yourself from me. You can hate me all you want. Just...You're the one good thing that ever happened here." Miranda can't really go on, knowing that Emily will feel disgusted with such odd confession.

Surprising, Emily smiled, a small weak smile.

"Thank you. I will try."

That was her promise.
