Sing for me

After driving home from Eden Club you got into more comfortable clothes and made some dinner you smiled to yourself seeing the snow slowly fall to the ground after you fed D/n and washed the dishes you decided to watch a movie before you went to bed  but someone knocked on your door

You: coming, Connor!

You got up and opened the door and standing there was Connor

Connor: how did you know it was me?

You: because you're the only person that would knock on my door this late at night but thanks for knocking this time

Connor: you're welcome

You:...so why are you here? Is there another case?

Connor: no I have come here to ask to stay with you tonight

You: I thought androids don't need sleep

Connor: that is true but all androids are capable of going into sleep mode

You: don't you go back to CyberLife until tomorrow?

Connor: yes but I also have the permission to stay with a partner

You: oh okay? You can come in I guess

You pulled him inside while locking the door you gestured for him to sit on the couch after he sat down with his hands on his lap you sat down next to him and continued to watch the movie you were playing

Connor: you really like (favorite movie) it's very interesting

You: you think so? I guess I do play it a lot

Connor: yes it was playing when we first met and it was playing while you were showering

You: oh yeah well I'm glad you're interested in it

Connor: can I ask you a question Lieutenant?

You: oh it's not personal this time?

Connor: when we start an investigation you always put ear buds into your ears I was always wondering why you do that

You: well when I listen to music everything around me it's drowned out, I focus better I kinda lose my mind in it music makes me feel mindless *giggles* in a worthwhile kind of way

Connor: I still don't quite understand

You: listen

You grabbed his hand and placed it over his chest

You: music is life that's why our hearts have beats

Connor: I don't have a heart I-

You: shh

You put your hand over his feeling the thumping in his chest

You: do you really believe there's just a regulator in your chest or a beating heart showing that you're alive?

Connor: I'm not alive I am a machine and nothing more

You: that's just your programming talking it's not you but that's alright you yourself doesn't know what your answer is

Hearing you silence Connor decided to continue

Connor: can you sing a song for me?

You went silent your mind pondering on his request you then gently grabbed his head and laid it on your lap

While you sang Conner's LED was straight yellow a smile was brought up to his face as he closed his eyes

Once you were done singing Conner had entered sleep mode

You: so did you like it, Connor?...Connor?

You leaned down to look at his face seeing that he was asleep you could tell because his LED had no color

You: you went into sleep mode?

You sighed and wanted to move to the comfort of your bed but you were just about comfy there

You: guess I'm sleeping on the couch tonight

You grabbed the remote and turned off the tv then you leaned your head back on the comfy couch and closed your eyes

You: goodnight Connor
