I was working, It was just me since there wasn't many people late at night.
I was making a small batch of samples putting toothpicks on each treat. The aroma of the chocolate bar was the best thing ever, I stared at the busy street lights and sounds by the glass walls protecting the shop.
I fixed the small flower pots on the tables while humming along to the beautiful soft piano music playing in the background.
The soft bell rung, indicating somebody went through. My head lifted to see two police officers.
"I love this chocolate place, everything is so delicious." One guy chuckled, "I love it even more because it's open when it's really late."
"Hello, welcome to cocoa delight." I walked to the counter to have my small heels click with every step I took. The officer that spoke was too familiar to miss.
"Ah, Miss. Ahn you're here! My favourite employee." Mr. Khang laughed. "I'll have the usual."
"Alright." I smiled, I set up his soft milk chocolate box with caramel along with a green tea chocolate box for his fiancee.
"Here you go." I neatly placed the boxes on the til, he paid for his chocolate while the other officer was on his phone sitting at a table.
"Jungkook, what do you want?" Mr. Khang turned to the guy, I tilted my head not even noticing from the beginning it was really him.
Jungkook stood up and took off his hat looking at the menu above immediately. "Soft milk chocolate with crushed hazelnuts." He smiled, looking to notice it was me. "Oh, Eunji! You work here?" He smiled, I nodded in response.
"You know Miss. Ahn?" Mr. Khang tilted his head. Jungkook nodded in response, "I didn't expect to see you in this chocolate bar."
I laughed lightly in response while beginning to crush the hazel nuts after preparing the soft chocolate. "Well, now you know."
Once I finished, I gave him his box of chocolate and he paid with a tip. "I can't take that, it's alright." I shook my head.
"No, I insist. It's alright, take it." He smiled. I thanked him shyly before he took his box.
"We might as well stay here for a bit. I love the view." Mr. Khang stared at the beautiful street view.
"So do I." I smiled, cleaning up the kitchen.
Another person entered the cafe, I said my greeting as they waved to me. "Oh, if I knew such a beautiful girl like you worked here I would come here often." The guy said with a big smile. "Anyways, I'd like the soft white chocolate with a bottle of water please."
I nodded in response. "I'm Cheolmin."
He did seem kind, but to me he just seemed so forward. I made his treat and he paid for it, he slipped in a piece of paper. "Thanks, here's my number. Use it will you?" He winked.
I chuckled as he left. "Don't go missing me too much baby doll." I scrunched my nose as he left.
"You gonna call him?" Mr. Khang teased. I shook my head without hesitation. "You got a lover? Who?"
"I don't." I chuckled. "I just don't like somebody who's so forward. It puts lots of pressure on me." I shrugged.
"You do have high expectations, your ideal guy seems hard to find. But you'll find him soon." Mr. Khang smiled.
"Look at you, you already have the love of your life. You have it so easy." I chuckled.
"You'll get it too, it'll be worth the wait." Mr. Khang smiled. "We should head back to the office, the case can't fix itself." He frowned. "See you around, Miss. Ahn."
"Thanks for coming!" I waved. Jungkook waved goodbye as well.
Time passed and the shop would be closing pretty soon, as usual I packed some leftovers and ate the rest of the samples. I closed up the shop and locked it's doors before putting the chairs on the table.
I was extremely exhausted, I wanted to sleep so badly. I began to drive to my apartment trying to keep my eyes open the whole ride. A yawn fell onto my lips as I entered the parking lot.
Luckily there was security guards to watch out late at night. I politely greeted the guard before going into the complex.
I went to my floor and opened my door. I didn't even have the energy to go to my bedroom. I just pulled off my bag and went face first onto the couch, falling asleep immediately.
