Charlie
"I wonder who Dave's mysterious guest is." I say as we reach the ice machine.
"It could be anyone. He's a wild card." Alan replies.
We both kneel down to the machine's height, I hold the bucket and Alan scoops out the ice. While we're doing this I can't help but think of how nice Alan is, and how attractive he is. I doubt he would ever think of me in any way other than friendship. My bruises are fading, so I look prettier than I did a few weeks ago, but I still can't picture him being into me.
"Well whoever it is, he seems really excited about it." I say.
"Well, that's just Dave for you." Alan replies.
We work in silence, and pretty soon we've filled up the bucket. Alan accidentally places his hand on mine as he hangs the ice scooper on the bucket handle. I look at him, and he looks at me.
"You know Charlie, there's something I've been meaning to tell you." Alan begins, but he is interrupted because we both lean in for a kiss. The situation wasn't ideal; the two of us in a kneeling position next to an ice machine in a hotel, but it's fine. Before things get too steamy, Alan pulls away. He jumps up and looks at me sadly.
"I can't do this, I'm sorry." He grabs the ice bucket and starts to walk down the hall back to the room.
"Alan!" I call out to him, jumping up and running after him. "What are you talking about?"
"I just betrayed a friend by kissing you. I'm really sorry, but nothing else between us can happen." He says firmly, he opens the door to the hotel room, and holds it open for me.
"No need, I'll be in in a minute. My shoes are bothering me, I think I might change them."
I go back into my room to see Evie reapplying her lipstick.
"Hey! What took you and Alan so long?" She asks me.
"Nothing." I say. "Scooping the ice just takes longer than expected." I kick off my shoes and jump onto my bed, and lie down with a sigh.
"So, nothing happened?" Evie asks, her brows raised.
"Er, no. Well er, yes." I reply.
"Did he kiss you?" She asks.
"How did you know?" I reply, shocked.
"Your lipgloss is smudged." She says, and we both laugh.

Long time no see! I'm back! I'm gonna update 80s Theater soon, plus I have three new stories in the works! One DM, one Beatles (if you haven't noticed by now, they are officially my second favorite band), and one non-fanfiction story! It's a love story told from a guy's perspective. If JK Rowling could write Harry Potter from Harry's perspective, I can write something from a guy's perspective!
Hope you are all having a great summer! I can't BELIEVE it's August already!
