Alan
Dave and I work the situation out the best we can. We both agree to just be friends with Charlie for now.
We don't have to go into the studio until later today, so as a surprise we decide to eat breakfast in the restaurant.
The four of us are seated by a hostess, next to a man and two teenage girls. The girls start squealing as we sit down.
"Oh dear," Martin says, quietly.
Charlotte
I hear Abigail and Cece squealing from where I am, by the register.
I give the receipt and the change to the customers I was serving, then look up.
Greg, Cece's father and Abigail's uncle, is trying to shut them up, while they're trying to talk to Alan, Dave, Martin, and Andy.
I check the chart, and I have both tables today.
This is going to be fun.
"What do you want to order?" I say, going over to the boy's table.
They give me their orders, and I can feel Abigail and Cece watching us.
"Before you put in our orders, we have a present for you," Martin says.
"For me?" I say, shocked.
They nod.
Andy passes me the shopping bag and I open it. Inside is a note.
"Read it first!" Dave says.
Dear Charlie,
This gift is our way of making you an unofficial member of Depeche Mode.
From your friends,
Dave, Alan, Martin, and Andy"You shouldn't have!" I exclaim, pulling out the present.
It's a leather jacket.
"Now you're one of us!" Alan says, and we all laugh.
I put it on for a second, then quickly take it off so I don't get in trouble with my boss.
"Thank you all so much!" I say, giving Martin and Andy, who are seated closest to me, hugs.
After my shift, I hang out until they get back from the studio.
I'm sitting in my hotel room, admiring the jacket, and there's a knock on my door.
"Yes?" I call.
"It's Dave. We're taking you out, so put on your leather jacket and something nice!"
