Part of Those Dreams

THE NEXT DAY, Gwen locked herself in Roosevelt. Not for the bad thing. She's just thought this is the best for them; Peter and her.

As Gwen let serums rack opened, she looking at them like newborn child. Her gaze straight to the last one; id #trial458, that identify her experiment to Richards Decay Rate Logarithm. She touched down at 459th experiments.

Obviously, Gwen didnt change her mind about saving Peter from those supervillain. This is the best way.

Again, she took the logarithm file and read it. More often she did, she began to understand this is a hint to actual logarithm. A few matters has changed, the serum's  structure closer to Peter's spider venom.

Then, Gwen closed the file. Once again, she took a glance to her structure. With a fast look, she found the minus.

Quick, Gwen wore lab's sungglasses and put in a tad of her blood less than in the last trial. She stirred it gently together with spider venom, chemical matter, and her extracted DNA.

But if before she used to think that's not her last experiment, this time is different. Now she sure about this version. 460th.. Now i know how hard Peter's Dad working on this thing..

She looks at the needle as if that is part of her dreams; for becoming like Peter.

Gwen put the serum in needle, want to take it in to her blood.

She took a deep breath, sighed at the last. Okay, Gwen. Go!

"Im sorry, Peter.." That's the last words from her before she injected the serum into her blood and turns unconscious.

Few hours later...

Yesterday was the best day of his life, no doubt about that. Thinking of his proposal, Peter could grinning fastly even he had to fight three others of them.

Oh, or...two. Two more left. Who knows if the ridicolus engagement could made him beat Dr. Octopus easier?

Smiling, this evening he swinging from jewelery store to Stacys apartement. This time for the actual one, eventhough he's shaking and dont know what the right sentence to propose a girl in front of her mom.

But well... Who cares? I do the right thing: in love with her.

Nothing could beat his feeling right now. Yesterday they've talked about anything for the future. This time is the right time for Pete to make them come true.

But what a shame, the same feeling didnt reflect from Gwens home. In front of her apartement building, there are a few police's cars. He decided to take a swing straight to her room.

Quick, the excitement changed into worried. Peter opens her room window, and because no one's there, he walk out straight to the next door.

Peter trying to relax as he saw NYPD's head talking with Helen. He's right, something's happened.

"What's going on, Mom?" Peter asked Helen, polite.

"A guy found Gwen unconscious in front of abandoned train station, Peter.."

What? She went to Roosevelt before? Actually that's what Peter almost said to Helen, but he holds himself up by just gave a sad look to her.

Peter sighed, looking at Helen. "May i see her?"

"Yeah.. Maybe she will wake up if you there."

With that permission, Peter walking in. She's in their living room that straight connect to the kitchen. One oldman (he assumed that's the person who saved Gwen), sitting on the bench while Gwen sleeping peacefully on the couch.

Peter looks at the oldman, smiling. "Sir, thank you for your help to her. Youre too kind."

The oldman smiles back, "Im just a homeless trying to get place to sleep when i found her. It's not kind enough."

Peter chuckles, just for his politeness to him. Then they both change a look to Gwen. Peter sighing, so does the oldman.

"She's meant the world to me.."

"Youre meant the world to me, Peter."

And... Beat. Peter realized something. One old memory raising from his past.

Although he doesnt have any idea how the voice sounds like his dad somehow, Peter trying to escape the silent zone in his mind by turned around to the oldman.

He finally asked back, "How do you know my name?"

"What did she do in Roosevelt..?"

And... Peter sure that's him. He cant hold his tears as his eyes straight to him.

Peter walking closer to the oldman as ask, "What are you doing here..?"

But the oldman keep on asking Peter the same question; "What did she do in Roosevelt..?"

The unbelievable gaze filling Peters eyes. That's make him look angrier than ever.

"What are you doing here?! Youre suppose to be dead!"

Famous last sentence.. Peter lost himself. He brought the oldman outside the room by making him swinging to the scene. The scene when he lost Gwen.

On the clock tower, Peter let out his mind to the oldman--that apparently he's his late dad, Richard Parker. Indeed Pete's angry to Richard. But the meeting seems the part of his dreams too to happen, especially now; when Pete needs his dad the most to find a cure for Gwen from whatever she's got into in Roosevelt's lab.
