"It's too late now, Jungkook."
His eyes widened at those words and looked down, a tear escaped down his cheek as he quickly wiped it off to erase the evidence.
"W-wait. Are you crying, Jungkook?"
When he was met with only silence and a sniffle, Jimin let out a laugh.
"Hey, I'm just kidding, okay?"
At this, Jungkook froze at his spot and snapped his head at Jimin.
"Yeah, I'm just kidding, you know. Just to see your reaction." He let out a hasty laugh. "You should see your expression!"
He only wanted to lighten the somehow depressed atmosphere between them, but it seemed like it did not work when suddenly Jungkook suddenly sent him a glare.
"Kidding?!"
Jimin's smile faltered as Jungkook once again asked him the same question but this time with a loud voice.
"J-Jung-"
"So you think it's funny?! Hyung?!"
Jungkook did not wait for Jimin's reply and quickly left the room without even sparing a glance not before slamming the door behind him.
What just happened?
A few seconds later, as if on cue, the hyungs went back inside the room and shook their heads disapprovingly at Jimin.
"You shouldn't have done that, Jiminie..."
Taehyung sent him a disappointed look and went to the corner of the room, packing his things up and left the room.
The rest nodded their heads discreetly and even hummed in response, and started to pack their things also, leaving Jimin more dumbfounded.
"Guys-"
"Jimin, I think this time, they're right." Hoseok placed a hand on his shoulder, stopping Jimin from chasing the others.
"But hyung!"
"No buts, Jimin. You should have heard how he suffered the whole month without you here, being depressed and guilty. And you should have seen his face as he counted days for your return, hoping that this time he would make it right."
At this, Jimin's head hung low in embarrassment.
He should not have done that...
And now, he could feel the guilt building up inside him and this time, he was the one who should make it right.
Hoseok let out a relieved sigh at the sight of the determined expression on Jimin's and patted his shoulder in encouragement.
"Now go after him!"
Jimin bowed in gratitude at Hoseok before sprinting towards his future.
-
"His parents are abroad at this moment, so he's living alone right now. Now go and seize your moment, you idiot!"
He remembered Jin's words when he called a few minutes back, asking for Jungkook's home address – he forgot to ask Hoseok just now and had to brace himself for Jin's anger.
At the same time, he was grateful that his parents were not at home, or it would be awkward.
Jungkook had hastily invited Jimin to come inside his house and gestured the older to sit on the couch in the living room.
