Sarah
My father and I had a big falling out last night. He was drunk, as always, and angry... as always. He hit me with his beer bottle and the glass shattered into my arm. I probably still have fragments of it in my arm. When the man touched it he must have pushed it in more and made me bleed. I feel the blood running down my arm and try to keep my cool in the pouring rain. When he told me I was bleeding, I felt the concern in his voice. I turn around and with all of my strength look up and him.
I stood there in awe of the features of this beautiful human. His perfect cheek bones, deep green eyes and his hair! My God I wanted to run my hands through his soft, short blonde hair! But I can't. I'm too... nothing. I'm too much of a nothing. His eyes still look concerned.
"Let me help you." He says over the rain.
"I don't need your help." I say as if sounding strong, but inside I am crumbling into millions of microscopic pieces, smaller than the pieces of beer bottle in my arm. I knew he wasn't leaving until he bought me another coffee. So, ignoring the pain I decided to go with him. I begin to walk towards the coffee shop, not saying anything, and he follows.
I love the sound of the rain hitting the hot concrete and the mist that comes off of it. It's the little things that give me joy. Not anything extravagant like a new car. The simple things.
"What's your name?" He asks as we walk down the street. I don't respond.
As we approach the coffee shop, I go to open the door but the man stops me but putting his hand on it. He closes it with force.
"What's your name?" He repeats.
"Trust me," I answer. "It's better that you don't know." I open the door and enter.I know the chapters are short for right now, but they are going to be growing!!! Thanks for reading!!
