Hi Guys! Just wanted to let you all know that the picture in this chapter is an example of the mask that the intruder was wearing. Creepy!

Sarah

As I turn and run down the hall, Noah's body collides into mine as he pushes me in my room. I look at Noah who now sees the origin of my scream. He runs back to me and closes the door. He opens his counter drawer and gets his car keys.

"Oh my God, we're going to die! This is it, we're going to die!" I say, in panic.

"You're not going to die!" Noah opens the window and looks down.

"Noah, what are we going to do?"

"Jump."

"What?"

"You're going to take my keys, jump out the window, land on the grass and start the car. You're going to drive as far and as fast as you can."

"What? No!" He opens the window and grabs my arm. With strength, I rip my arm out of his hand.

"Sarah, we don't have time for this!"

"No! I'm not going without you! Who is that?" He stares at me. "Is that the man who killed your..."

"Yes!" He says interrupting me. Now my fears have multiplied. "That's why you have to jump! You'll land on grass, it'll be fine! You have to trust me."

"I'm not going anywhere without..."

The door flies open and the man appears, wearing a fitted mask to hide his face. It has eyes, a nose and a mouth, looking like something from a horror film. With force, the masked man grabs my arm. It feels familiar, the feeling of pain shooting up my arm and then numbness. I feel terrorized and angry! I see Noah about to charge him, but I don't want him getting hurt! With all of my strength, I punch the mask right off of his face!

"Oh God." Noah whisper as my brain realizes who the monster in-front of me is.

"Dad!"

Noah

Sarah's in shock! I'm in shock! Her father is the same man that killed my family and he had Sarah in his arms! How about no!

I run to him and take a single punch. He releases his grip and falls into the hallway. I take Sarah and we jump out the window one at a time. We get in the car and I drive as fast as I can. Sarah sits there in silence.

"Say something, please." I say. "Look, I can't sit here in silence."

"Then turn on the radio." She is either pissed off or... pissed off. Me, being me, I try to lighten the mood.

"Penny for your thoughts?"

"Don't joke with me Noah, not now."

"I'm not trying to!"

"Do us both a favor and grow up! Do you realize what just happened?! We were attacked! Twice, in one day! On Christmas! By robbers and my father who, just so happens to be the person who murdered your father and your sister! And, you know what that means! He probably killed my mother too! I don't know how, but by the looks of what he just did, I wouldn't be surprised! And to make matters even better, he's trying to kill us!" There's a long pause.

"You know you owe me like, ten pennies now?"

"Oh my God!" She says, annoyed. Now is obviously not the time for any mood lightening.

"Look at the bright side!"

"Which is what?" She looks at me and begins to raise her voice. "What's the silver lining Noah, please, by all means, tell me!"
