A Summer To Remember

chapter 6

~SIENNA'S POV~

It was the next day and I am so tired. I feel horrible.. Like a hangover sorta.. I looked at my phone, it was 10am. Ugh. I pull myself out of bed and look out the cabin window. My group are doing stretches not too far from my cabin. Should I go over there and stretch too..? Nah. I try to stand up straight and do a bit of my own stretches but I fall to the floor. What is wrong with me? Am I just tired? Hmph. I crawl back in bed and try to sleep.

I wake up to someone shaking me. I slowly open my eyes and try to focus on who it is.

"FINALLY! You're awake!" Lenny cheered.

"Arrghh. I was sleeping!"

"I'm sorry," He stuck his bottom lip out. "I just wanted to talk to you about something.."

"Okay. About what?"

"Can you walk? Like, do you feel okay walking?"

"I sure can.."

"Can we go for a walk around the campus.. To the lake?"

"Alright."

I was still in my clothes from when I went running yesterday. Leggings and a white sports bra. Ha..

"So, are you feeling okay now?"

"I feel better... just, in shock I guess."

"Well that's good. They are letting you have the rest of the week off just to get better, they're also letting me have it off too, so I can look after you." I put my hands in my face and sighed. "What's wrong?"

"I'm just so embarrassed.. You really don't have to look after me, Len. You've already done so much.." I said putting my head down.

"No." He put his finger on my chin and lifted my head. "If I just didn't ignore you that morning, you wouldn't have got lost.."

"Yeah why did you ignore me?" He looked at me and sighed.

"Ahhhh, do I really need to tell you? It's embarrassing.." He gave me a weak smile.

"It can't be that bad.." I laughed.

"Hmm. Okay. Well, the night before you got lost in the forest.. I was sitting in my cabin with John and his girlfriend Mylinh. They knew something was up with me and I told them.." I stopped him mid way.

"Told them what?"

"Just... w-wait.. anyway. Mylinh was helping me. But it didn't help very much.."

"What was she helping you with.." I started to feel sick. I was scared, I guess. We stopped walking and Len stood in front of me with his hands in his pockets. He shrugged.

"What?"

"Okay. Sienna.. Please, don't.. freak out or anything. Please. But.. I like you. I honestly like you." He gave a weak smile.

"W-w-what?!" My eyes lit up.

"I told you not to freak out! But, I wanted advice from Mylinh how to get you to like me. She said flirt with you full on for one day, then ignore you the next. So I tried that. She said that will make you want me. But I guess it didn't so I'll just leave you alone." He turned around but I grabbed his shoulder before he could walk away. He turned around at looked at me with tears in his eyes. "Who said I didn't already like you?" I whispered as I pulled his face closer to mine. I kissed him. I could feel him smiling. He put his arms around my waist and pulled me closer. He held me so tight. And I loved every second of it.
