I was up earlier than I should have been on Friday morning I put off packing until the last minute.  I made sure to be quiet as to not wake up Jay who slept over the night before. My mom made me a check list of things to pack so I wouldn't forget anything. I was halfway through my list when my dad burst into my room.

"Nate-" I inturupted his sentance by shushing him harshly and pointed over at Jay who was starting to stir on the air matters. "Oh sorry. He said in a hushed tone. He handed me an envelope. "This is your plane ticket and some money, don't lose it." He instructed. I threw the envelope on my bed. "Is there coffee?" I asked walking past my dad out of my room. "Yeah." I heard my dad answer. He followed me downstairs and poured himself a cup of coffee.

"Hey dad guess what." I said after a few minutes of silence. "What's up?" He answered. "Me and Ryan broke up." I said dryly. "Really?" He asked. I nodded. "Aw I'm sorry. When did that happen?" He questioned. "On Monday, it's fine though we stayed friends." I replied. My dad nodded and refilled his cup. "And guess what else" I said. My dad hummed. I waited until he took a big swig of coffee before giving my news.

"Me and Jay go out now."

"Your kidding right?" My dad nearly choked on his coffee. I laughed at his reaction. "Jay?" He questioned. "Yes Jay, your godson Jay, your best friend's son Jay, the Jay that's upstairs. Jayson Lucas Sting is my boyfriend." I exaggerated. My dad stood there unsure of what to say. "Wha-what!? When did this happen?" He managed to stutter out. "Monday." I answered confidently. "So Jay is.... What is Jay?" He asked. I opened my mouth to talk but stopped.

"What is Jay?" I asked myself. Jay never told me what is sexuality was nor did bother to ask. I just assumed he was a confused gay.

"I actually don't know, he never told me" I said. "Ah that doesn't matter, you two like each other that's what really important." My dad said."Alright I gotta go to work. I might be back before you leave depending on when Tambry comes to get you." He said putting his now empty coffee cup in the sink. "But if I don't see you, have a good flight and call me or mom when you land." He said ruffling my hair.

Normally I would have protested this action but I didn't brush my hair yet so if anything he probably fixed it. "And do not forget that envelope." He added on the way out. "I'm not gonna forget it." I mumbled to the now empty kitchen. I made my way back to my room.

Jay was awake now and texting. He kept getting notifactions which seemed to be making him aggrivated. I sat by him on the air matress and poked him to get is attention. My efforts failed as he kept his focus on his phone. He let out a groan.

"How about we put this down...." I took his phone from him. He reached for it but I tossed it somewhere on my bed and trapped him in my arms. "What's wrong baby?" I asked. "Nothing..." He responded burying himself deeper into the hug. "You're lying." I stated. He sighed. "It's just that everyone keeps asking me about Rachel and I breaking up and I didn't really care at first but it's so annoying now. Like it's Friday we broke up Monday why is everyone still talking about it?" He rambled.

I gave him a kiss on the forehead. "You're one of the most popular boys in school, people are gonna talk about it." I said. "I know but it's been like a week." He said, obviously frustrated. "Okay you know what we're gonna do?" I asked in a calm tone. He shook his head.

"First, we're gonna take this..." I took his phone off my bed. "....then we're gonna clear all these notfications...." I pulled done the notication bar and clicked 'clear all'. "....then we're gonna put this on silent...." I muted the phone "....then we're gonna put this done 'till it's time to leave." I sat the phone on my night stand.

"M-my my st- stomach hurts." He stuttered. "That's 'cuz you're letting this stuff stress you out baby." I said. "I'll get you some breakfast okay?" I didn't wait for him to answer before going downstairs.

I came back upstairs with a bowl of cereal and saw Jay was on his phone again. "Jay what did we just talk about?" I asked annoyed. "No no it's just Nick, I told him that him and Cece could come over." He explained. "Yeah just invite people over to my house that's fine. I said sarcastically. I handed him the bowl. "When's you mom coming to pick us up? I asked. "One-ish." He said with his mouth full. "Are Nick and Cece coming now?" I asked. "Yeah." He said.
