[12/How does someone check if they had a heart attack?]

-

Desira sat back on her bed and stared at the ceiling above her. She had just gotten home from another long and tiring session with Deaton and nobody else was at the house. Deaton and Desira had been practicing pyromancy and Desira had nearly burned the Animal Clinic down four times. Desira's mind started to drift off to the past few weeks she had experienced in Beacon Hills. She began to think of the night Mason, Liam, Brett and herself were in the woods. She hadn't told anyone what she saw that night when she touched the walls of the hole. The images flashed before her eyes again now that she was thinking about it.

The masked men the pack has come to call The Dread Doctors stood over bodies, all of which were teenagers. A pair of electric blue eyes that seemed to pierce Desira to her core, black smoke floating around a giant beast. None of this was what scared Desira; instead she was scared by the silhouettes of men shrouded in green mist. When they turned towards her, they had no facial features. The final image she saw was a faceless man pointing a gun at her.

Desira rolled over and grabbed her phone from her nightstand. She didn't want to think about it anymore. Desira sent a text to Stiles, asking him if they were still waiting to enter Eichen House and when she didn't get a reply so she assumed they weren't. She stared at her phone screen before clicking on a text.

New Message to:
Brett Talbot

Desira clicked her phone off and threw it on her bed as she sat upright. She reached over to her backpack and unzipped it, pulling out the copy of The Dread Doctors that the group wanted everyone to read. She stared at the words, trying to process them as she read and reread them. With a frustrated sigh, Desira threw the photocopied pages back into her backpack. She grabbed her phone again, turning it on and seeing the blank message she hadn't sent. Backing out of it, she instead sent a text to Liam asking him what he was doing.

She waited ten minutes for a reply and did not receive one. Desira groaned and stood up to stretch. She looked over her shoulder at her phone as it sat on her bed. Quickly, Desira snatched her phone up and her keys before walking out of the house. She drove to the Beacon Hills Preserve and turned off her ignition. Desira pulled out her phone and sent a text before standing up and beginning to walk into the woods. She wandered around looking for the hole Mason had fallen in days ago. However, Desira wasn't very familiar with the area and she wound up lost in the woods. She let out a loud groan as she turned around and bumped into something. She yelped as she realized it was a person.

"Wow, hey, calm down. It's me," Brett said.

"I think I just had a heart attack. How does someone check if they had a heart attack? Fuck it, it doesn't matter; I had one," Desira panicked.

"Jesus, are you okay?" Brett asked with a laugh.

"No, I just had a heart attack."

"You didn't have a heart attack."

"Fuck you, you don't know what I had."

"Actually, I do. I'm a werewolf, I can hear your heartbeat."

"Shut up," Desira turned around and crossed her arms with a huff, "Thank you for coming though."

"No problem. Do you know where you're going?"

"No," Desira admitted while turning around with a frown.

Brett smiled and turned around, he waved his hand telling Desira to follow him. She had to bite back her pride and let him lead the way. Much to her dismay, she had not actually been that far away from the hole - only about twenty feet and Brett now turned back to Desira with his arms folded acorss his chest.

"Can you tell me why we're back here?" He asked.

"I saw something when I was down there. You probably already know that I lied about that. We're back because I think I can figure out something important that can help the others."

Brett only nodded as Desira jumped down into the hole. She inhaled deeply and looked back up at Brett with a little fear in her eyes. She had a feeling she wasn't going to like what she sees but if it could help figure something it, it's worth it. Brett, taking notice of the fear in her eyes, almost stopped her. He could tell how much she didn't want to do this, but he had a feeling he wouldn't be able to stop her from doing it anyways. Desira's eyes lit up as she placed her hand on the wall of the hole like she did previously.

A face flashed before her eyes, one that she believes she's seen before. It was a boy named Cory that was the same age as Liam and Mason. Silhouettes flashed, too fast for her to be able to tell what or who they were. The blue eyed beast she had seen before roared and ran at her. There was a man on fire who slammed into the beast before it could get too close. Another man's face she had never seen before slowly lifted up at her. A gun pointed at her face and fired.

Desira yanked her hand back, it felt as though she had set it on a hot stove top. She looked down at it to see that it was indeed burning again. She released a shaky breath as Brett pulled her back up by her uninjured hand. She tried re-picture the images she just saw but they all instantly seemed blurry. Desira grit her teeth in frustration as she looked back down in the hole.

"You're not going back down there," Brett said.

"I can't get a clear image of what I saw, I need to try again," Desira replied without looking at the boy.

"No you don't. Your hand is already injured and what makes you think that the moment you come up the same thing won't happen?"

Desira looked at Brett now with a look of rebellion. However, she knew he was right so she turned around and started walking trying to get a clear image. At least of the first boy she saw, she can't even remember the name she associated with him when she saw him. A wave of nausea hit Desira suddenly, causing her to trip and fall to the ground landing on her knees. Brett reached out to catch her but he wasn't fast enough. Desira hit the ground hard and let out a choked breath.

"Are you okay?!" Brett asked frantically.

Desira couldn't reply, she instead turned over a puked. Everything hurt as she finished and attempted to sit up, Brett helped to lean against a tree and held her gently by the shoulders.

"I'm glad I didn't come out here by myself," Desira weakly said with a laugh.
