For a while, it was perfect. The war was over, everyone was rebuilding, celebrating, mourning, but everyone was together. Ron and Hermione were no exception as Ron worked as an Auror and Hermione first finished school and then joined him and Harry at the Ministry. It was a year or two after that, when the last of the Death Eaters had been found and done away with, the Ministry revolutionized, and life seemed to become normal for the first time since they were eleven, that the bickering started. It was little things at first, they’d argue and then do the usual kiss and make up routine, but as Ron moved into Hermione’s flat and they spent more and more time together, it became much more difficult. Hermione kicked Ron out more than a few times in those years. They dated other people, Ron actually thought he found the love of his life, Laura, when he found himself in Greece after Hermione kicked him out. But without the constant bickering, he realized how bored he was and soon he came back to Hermione.

The rest of the Weasleys, Harry, Neville, and Luna were exasperated at the couple. They all knew they belonged together and eventually they got the two to sit down and talk it out. It was after Ron came back from Greece and he confessed how much he really loved Hermione, how he didn’t think he could live without her and she simply closed the door in his face. Ginny had been talking to Hermione and knew she felt differently than she showed, she just didn’t want to get hurt again. So that became one of many Weasley Interventions following the war and it was successful. A few months later, Ron got up the courage to finally ask Hermione to marry him and they were married in the Burrow on August 10th 2005, although Hermione insisted on keeping her maiden name. Just under nine months later, Rose was born a week ahead of schedule and Hugo followed two years later.
