James Sirius Born March 7th 2004

James is the prankster of the house, as is to be expected. The oldest and most certainly a little spoiled, James is not only the spitting image of his grandfather and namesake, but also has the same inflated ego and capacity for jokes that James Senior had. His heart is in the right place and he is proud of his lineage and desires, above all else, to prove his Gryffindor worth. He never questioned his position in Gryffindor house, it was always a given to him. That he would be placed anywhere else would have been pure blasphemy and he made that clear to all who knew him. His parents might assure him that any house would be brilliant, but James himself would never be satisfied.

However, the hat didn’t hesitate for a second before placing James in Gryffindor and there he began a pranking fame to rival that of the Weasley twins with his best friend, cousin and fellow Gryffindor, Fred Weasley II. The two of them brought laughter to all and even McGonagall cracked a few smiles at their wild endeavors, although she never failed to be sure they served their near nightly detentions. By his fifth year, James was quite the ladies’ man, although he never really thought seriously about any of them. This is, perhaps, the one way he differed from his grandfather: he did not pine over any one girl, instead he toyed confidently with all of them but never getting serious with any, much like his middle-namesake, Sirius. He never meant any harm, but neither did he when he fought with his brother, Albus.

Albus was the one to end the two years of spoiling that James had had all to himself and James bickered with his brother often. They competed over games of Exploding Snap or Quidditch and James teased Albus endlessly about the possibility of getting put in Slytherin. On the other hand, James adored his little sister, Lily, and felt endlessly protective over the fiery girl, regardless that her temper and prowess matched, if not surpassed, her mother’s and she was perfectly capable to caring for herself.

James played for the Gryffindor Quidditch team as Chaser starting in his second year, no exceptions, and by his fifth year rose to be team captain. The Quidditch team, decorated with Potters and Weasleys as it was, rose to the top, far above the rest of the houses in prowess and skill. This is part of what inflated James’s head as he lounged with his friends and admirers all around the castle.

After graduating Hogwarts, James went to be an Auror and, after being partnered with a girl he barely knew, fell in love after a particularly dangerous mission where she had saved his life when he had thought her incapable. Unlike his father and grandfather’s ginger girls, McKenna’s hair was a shamble of blonde curls, she wore glasses, and was really a big nerd. She had been in Ravenclaw and that, combined with her bookish nature, had been the reason James thought her incapable and had been furious when his father had paired them. However, after this mission, James couldn’t take his eyes off of her. After much convincing and begging on his side, she finally went out with him, although it was really more to shut him up than anything. Three years later, they moved in together and were married the next year to raise future Ravenclaw and Gryffindor Quidditch players of their own.
