Naruto X Reader Oneshots

Farewell

Hey, this is Fan. If you're here, it's probably because at some point you were into these Naruto oneshots. I started these around the same time I started high school- they were a fun, easy way to practice writing and improve the craft. Never could I have guessed I'd have so many people reading them. I had an 'extravaganza' writing seven minutes in heaven for the different characters at 10k reads. Around the time of the birthday Q & A, we were at 25k reads. As of writing this final chapter (sadly), these 15 Naruto oneshots have over 200k reads. I know the numbers will only go up and have been going up despite me not writing a single oneshot for almost a year.

I kept telling myself there was more to write, that I had more fun ideas... and I do. But at the beginning of last year, I started my own story, because I felt like I was capable of doing more. Some of you have fled ship here and are already reading it. It was just for fun, but, surprisingly, despite being much newer, it has significantly more reads than these oneshots- and a strong fan base. It blows my mind.

To put it simply, I'm not in high school anymore, I'm older, pursuing English both academically and more seriously in general, and while I loved Naruto (and still do), I hope you understand why I'm finished here, if you haven't figured it out already. There are two things I have to say, before I say farewell.

I'd like to thank each and every one of you for reading these oneshots, for commenting, giving feedback, favouriting, adding it to all your (at times, pervy) reading lists, and for the unconditional love and support you've blessed me with over the past few years. I still so fondly remember getting my first comment, and the pure joy of having a hundred people read the collection! Holy cow, I remember thinking- and it led to dozens of 3:00am nights. I thought about removing these oneshots from wattpad entirely to really move on, but what they've brought means more to me than any mild embarrassment at having written Naruto fanfiction (haha). (Besides, they're not that bad, are they?)

The other thing I have to say is that although I won't be adding any more Naruto oneshots, that doesn't mean this has to be goodbye. Like I've said before, all my time on here has been dedicated to my original x-reader story. To be honest, it's almost just as cringey to me as these oneshots. But if you like my writing, and like these oneshots, I guarantee you'll love what I can do with the freedom to create my own characters and my own story. If you want to check it out, it's at first similar to vampire knight/ Harry Potter, but you'll quickly realize it's horrifyingly different.

It's called Crimson: Yandere (Vampires x Reader) and you can find it on my profile. Take the romantic fun of these short oneshots, and imagine an actual mystery story centralized at a castle academy with five (lowkey tortured) vampire yanderes slowly gaining interest in the main. Like I said, there's a wick cool fan community, tons of mystery, and better, darker writing. It's the most unconventional x reader I've ever seen and if that sounds like something you'd be into, definitely take a look! It's making (rather bloody) waves for a reason.

Again, thank you guys so much for all the support. I read every single comment, even when I stopped updating. I hope you find the books you want to read, and if you don't, that you write them yourselves. You made me a better writer, a kinkier son of a gun, and a happier person.
