He sat in the black car at the far end of the parking lot, it was dark enough you wouldn't be able to see him sitting in the driver seat and that's what he wanted. He had knocked out the light behind the car casting the end of the parking lot in darkness.

He glanced again at the glossy picture of his mark, a balding chubby man who had embezzled millions of dollars from the mafia.

Raphael took a deep breath and another drink of coffee, one more hit then he was taking a long vacation.

As a mercenary for the powerful and the dirty he was used to hits on people, he killed and tortured without a thought but he was tired.

A few months ago he had done work for a motorcycle club and while there fell in love, he considered giving up his job and joining the club but when she fell in love with someone else he realized he was never getting out of this job.

The mark came out of the tall news building, talking on his phone and carrying a briefcase. Raphael checked his gun again and then screwed on the silencer.

The man should count himself lucky, his death would be swift and painless and that was rare for Raphael.

He climbed silently from the car and crossed the darkened parking lot. The man in question hadn't seen him and was fumbling in his pockets for his car keys.

Raphael gave a bored sigh as he came up behind the man pressing the end of his gun to the mans head.

"Hello, Harold."

"Oh no...oh...please...don't."

"You owe a lot of people a lot of money."

"I'll pay next week." The man said dropping his phone and briefcase.

"Sorry, that's not an option."

Raphael pulled the trigger, Harold's body falling forward instantly onto the pavement.

Raphael grabbed the phone and briefcase, it was quick and easy another plan that went perfectly.

He turned around and it was then he heard the small gasp. Glancing up he saw her.

A woman stood a few feet away, her long black hair hanging to almost her waist, porcelain skin and bright blue eyes staring at him. She was wearing a knee length pencil skirt, stilettos and a button up blouse.

He froze he wasn't prepared for her, for anyone. This had never happened before and the only explanation for it was that he was simply burned out and didn't pay enough attention.

"please....please don't kill me." She begged her lower lip trembling.

She took a shaky step backward and he watched her, unsure of what to do. Then she turned and tried to run and his instincts kicked in.

She was quick but he was quicker and in a few fast strides, he caught her around the waist.

"Help me!" She screamed.

He clamped his hand over her mouth and giving a quick twist managed to remedy her unconscious. She went limp in his arms instantly.

He lifted her into his arms, she didn't weigh much at all and he carried her easily to his car, tossing her roughly into the trunk and slamming it shut.

He wasn't sure what exactly he was going to do with her but he figured he had time to think about it. He gathered Harolds things as instructed and then got into his car and drove into the night.
