After lunch, he offered to take her to the top of the mountain and let her After lunch Raphael offered to take her to call her parents. She hurried to clean up their dishes and put everything away where it belonged and then pulled on shoes and a jacket that he loaned her.

They hiked in silence, his mind still running wild. They wanted her dead and if he didn't follow through they would send someone else to do it. He didn't want to see her killed but letting her go meant going to prison.

"Are you okay?" She asked.

"Fine."

"You seemed different after your walk earlier."

"Nothing for you to worry about."

"You can tell me, I mean ...I know we're not...this isn't your typical relationship but if you needed to talk I would listen."

He chuckled but had to agree, whatever their relationship was typical wasn't it. The longer she stayed though the more he realized he enjoyed her company.

They reached the mountaintop and he hesitated, this was a giant leap of faith he was taking. His phone was mostly untraceable and even if they found the general area there were too many miles to search. If she called the police instead of her parents he wasn't sure he would have it in him to stop her.

He took a deep breath and then handed her his phone. She smiled and then took it from him, quickly dialing the number.

She paced the mountaintop as the phone rang until her mother answered.

"Hello?"

"Mom, it's me." She said happily.

"Tessa?! Oh! Tessa! Baby where are you?! Are you hurt?"

"No, Mom I'm fine. I'm sorry you were worried...I'm staying with a friend and I didn't have service until now."

"We saw on the news your boss was murdered and we thought the worst."

"I'm sorry, I promise I'm okay."

"Who are you staying with?"

"Just...a good friend. I promise I'm okay."

"Tess..."

"Mom, I love you. I love you and Dad so much and...I'll try to call again as soon as I can."

"Tess! Don't hang up!" Her mother warned.

Taking a deep breath she did just that ending the call and then handing him his cell phone.

"I didn't want them to have time to trace it," She said with a shrug.

"You don't want them to find you and rescue you?" He asked, sliding the phone in his pocket.

"I don't know yet."

He leaned forward before he could stop himself and kissed her, Deep and passionate. He pulled away long enough to grab her hand and drag her down the mountain.

They stumbled into the cabin together and he pinned her to the door, using his body weight to hold her in place as he stripped off his jacket and his shirt, her own hands tearing at her clothes. Their mouths desperately finding each other again and again.

He couldn't keep his hands off of her, her smooth pale skin, her soft curves and dips. Every noise so addicting.

Later they lay in the large bed, the blankets pulled up around them and her nestled snug in his arms. One hand tracing up and down her bare arm.

"I've never brought anyone here before," He said softly.

"Really? Not even Chloe?"

"No, we never had the chance. We hadn't been together long when she got pregnant and then...when she died."

"I'm really sorry Raph, about her and the Baby." She said genuinely.

"Me too."

He kissed her bare shoulder and couldn't resist nibbling on the soft skin just a little bit. She giggled and squirmed in his arms but made no effort to escape him.

"Was there anyone after her?" She asked when he finally stopped his teasing.

"No, there was a girl named Jenny that I thought maybe would turn into more than friends but...she was in love with someone else. They're really happy together and he's a good man."

"You're a good man too," She said, resting her chin on his chest.

"Do you honestly believe that?"

"Yes, I know what you do for money but...you saved me. That night in those woods you could have just let me go and you didn't. You came after me, you've kept me warm, fed and...safe. I feel safe with you."

"That's crazy."

"I know but...I do." She said with a shrug.

He hesitated a minute, watching her taking in her appearance. Memorizing the way she looked. Her thick black tousled black hair her vibrant blue eyes and full lips. He leaned forward kissing her deeply and pulling her more fully onto his chest.

"Thank you for letting me call my mom today."

"You're welcome, thanks for not ratting me out."

"Wouldn't have done much good, I don't really know anything about you."

He shrugged but his thoughts kept drifting to the men he knew would be looking for them right now, wondering where they were. If they found this cabin it would be the end of the line for both of them, scaring her wouldn't help anything now.
