Thirty two

It's been about 4 months and 2 days since Tessa told me she was pregnant and I'm really excited for this baby to be born. It really seems like everything is coming together and everyone is excited. Everyone except Tessa's family. They're not exactly thrilled with the baby being mine, as they still dont trust me. I've tried to tell them I'm different now but they're not buying it. But I'm not too worried about that. I know I've changed and Tessa can see that too. I just really hope her parents can see it too.

"Daddy your phone is ringing." I heard Lucy say as she gave me my phone

To my surprise it was Luke. I havent spoken to him in 2 months.

2 months ago

Tuesday night means dinner with Luke's family at Lucy's request. Everyone seemed fine with it and Luke enjoyed time with Lucy but tonight felt different. Luke wasnt his normal self and he kept giving me death glares. I decided to question him but also being subtle about doing so.

"So Luke everything all good?" I asked

Luke took a sip from his glass of water while maintaining eye contact with me.

"I don't know Ashton is everything all good?" He questioned me

Everyone at the table could sense that something was about to happen.

"I uh- Yeah I think so."

Luke nodded and took another sip from his water. Liz was about to say something when Luke rudely interrupted her.

"You know what, everything isn't fine. I'm tired of secrets Ashton."

"What do you-"

"Dont play that card Ashton you know what I mean. I'm not fucking stupid."

"Lucas language." Liz exclaimed

Luke shrugged her off. I knew this wasn't the conversation for dinner.

"Luke let's take this outside."

"No. Let everyone know what you did. Oh and while you're at it let them know how I got in this mess in the first place."

"Not in front of my daughter. So let's go outside and sort this out like adults."

This dinner was getting intense, Luke was getting angrier by the second and I had a feeling why. But I'm not going to cause a scene in front of my daughter. So I got out of my seat, walked over to Luke and pulled him aside. He tried pulling back but I was much more stronger than him. We made our way outside.

"Luke what the hell? Why are you acting like this?"

"Why are you keeping secrets from me?"

"What am I keeping from you?"

"Oh I dont know, how about the fact that you bribe the judge 10 million to give me a lesser sentence for the crime I committed and for the record I did that for you."
