____________
EVAN POV
____________My skates cut the ice with sharp movements as coach barked orders at the team. I passed the puck to Nolan, who passed to another person. Thus continued down this line as we practiced our passing.
I could hear Nolan's girlfriend cheering at Nolan from the bleachers, her high pitched voice cheering him to practice as if it were a game.
It irritated me. I never did like Mylie, she's annoying. Like, worse then Heather annoying. Then again Heather isn't a 'overly nice' annoying; Heather is the "I'll fucking cut you if you so much as look at me" annoying. Mylie however is the "I've dranken six cups of coffee and eaten eight bags of sugar' annoying. She's way to happy all the time.
It isn't that she isn't nice, honestly I probably would like her if she wasn't so annoying.
" BILLARD! FOCUS" Coach barked and I jump out of my thoughts as I see that were making teams to do a small game.
"Billard, Cross, Wyatt, and Marine. You're on left net. Berchard, Lotner, Mayer, and Csergo. You guys are on right net." He barks and the teams split to they're respectful sides.
After the small game, which my team won by the way, everyone went to change and coach gave us a small pep talk for the upcoming last game of the year. Everyone was exited for provincials, especially me considering Nolan's girlfriend wouldn't be tagging along. Provincials were a fun time. Coach normally would spend a lot of money. The provincial trip was often more of a field trip for the team; as the coach took us sight seeing or somewhere fun during the weeklong trip.
"Noly~!" Mylies perky voice chimed as she ran in, causing cries of surprise or anger from the other members of the team who were trying to change. "Great game Nolan! You were great out there."
I roll my eyes. "It was a practice Mylie, not a game."
Nolan scoffed at me then pulled his shirt on and kisses Mylie before pushing her out of the changing room.
"I'll see you in a bit" he says and she giggled.
"Jesus Christ. How do you handle her?" Ashton asks and he rolls his eyes.
"I just do." He says.
As we leave the ice arena I could sense the annoyance radiating off if him.
We climb into my car and I turn to him.
"What's wrong." I demand.
"Nothing" he says.
"Nolan." I warn.
"Evan." He responds, not looking at me. "Just start driving."
"I'm not driving. Not until you tell me what's wrong."
"Maybe I don't want to tell you this time, Evan!" He snaps, finally looking at me.
And then I see it. The tears that swim in the edges of his eyes.
"Nolan.." I whisper. "Come here." I say.
He immediately complies and falls into my arms, sobbing slightly.
We sit there for a minute, me just holding him and letting him cry for whatever reason he was crying._______
I've actually seen thus in the hallways where Nolan just broke down over a breakup and Evan was just like "comere" and it killed me a little
_______He pulls away eventually and wipes his blue eyes, sniffling.
"Thankyou. I needed that. No homo, right?"
For some reason this time, it irked me and something inside me tweaked just a little, but I nodded anyways and pat him on the shoulder.
"No homo." I murmur with a small smile, deciding to ignore the feeling.
We drive in silence for a few minutes, Nolan not saying anything.
I don't know what caused Nolan to breakdown like that, it was so sudden and uncalled for. He didn't do that often. The last time he had a breakdown with tears was...in grade five..
Almost five years ago..
We pull up to his house and I pat Nolan on the back again.
"Feel better man. Call me if you need anything."
"Actually..Evan. Could you stay the night?" He asks, so quiet I almost didn't hear him.
"Yeah..yeah of course. Why?" I ask. He takes a breath.
"I don't know..I'm just...I don't know. Evan..I want to break up with Mylie. I don't know why I just...I just woke up this morning and...I didn't want her anymore.." He said, his voice was quiet like he was trying not to cry again.
But just this morning he was having a dream about her...
"And that's fine bro.. You aren't a bad guy for that, if you need me to be around to tonight I will. Just lemme call my parents."
"Thanks Ev'. You're a real bro" He says. I wink at him and turn off the car, grabbing our bags and jumping out.
We hang around for the rest of the day, watching movies and at some point we made brownies because we were high.
As we were watching SAW:II Nolan suddenly got a text and he sat up.
"Who is it?" I ask tiredly, almost asleep but he woke me when he had sat up.
"Mylie."
I sat up, instantly concerned as I watched Nolan pace the living space.
"Just do it man, get it over with." I say. "It wouldn't be fair to Mylie if you continued the relationship, she deserves to be told the truth"
He goes quiet for a bit then sits down beside me, running a hand through his blonde locks. My stomach knotted as I stare at him and I blush a bit.
Why? I don't know. I'm not gay, that's for sure. No homo.
No homo.
No homo.
No homo.
No ho-
"Done. I told her. I'm single." Nolan said, interrupting my thoughts. I smile at him.
"Yeah. You good?' I ask. He nods at me with a faint
"what time is it?" He asks.
"Going on 3:00 in the morning" I say. "Did your parents come home yet?"
He shakes his head.
"No. But whatever, they're adults they can handle themselves." He says.
Nolan yawns.
"I'm gonna go to bed, you coming? He asks, standing up from the couch and switching the movie off.
"yeah." I say. Nolan walks up the stairs. As we enter the room Nolan tears his shirt off and flops onto his bed. I stand in the doorway awkwardly, because for some reason when I look at him shirtless on the bed like that, I blush. Even though that's the same bed I've always used during sleepovers and the same boy I've always shared a bed with for eight and a half years...
Tonight, I blush. Buy why?
"What are you doing ya' dummy. Get in bed" Nolan mumbles. "How many times I gotta tell you, me casa' es su casa', remember?"
I hum and trudge from the doorway towards the bed, climbing in beside him. He flips over onto his back and looks at me.
"Are you OK?" He asks.
No. I'm still confused over why I blushed over you..
"Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?"whatever cocking an eyebrow at him. He shrugs.
"I don't know. You've just been giving off that vibe." He says. I chuckle.
"Whatever. I'm goin' to sleep" I say, snuggling deeper into the blankets. He flicks the light off with a chuckle and cuddles into the blanket.
A few minutes later as I'm drifting off I begin to shiver. Nolan's room is cold, it always is. No matter how hot the rest of the house is, his room is freezing.
"Are you cold?" Nolan murmurs beside me.
"Little bit, but it's whatever. I'll warm up " I yawn.
He grunts and rolls over and I tense as he wraps an arm around me, his muscles constricting as he pulls me against his chest.
"Just like old times, eh? Goodnight Ev' I'll see you in the morning. No homo." He mumbles into my back.
My cheeks heat up at his words.
"No..homo.." I say slowly drifting off.
Yeah..
No homo..And they say they aren't gay😏
