(7) The Fight

Talking to Evan was nice if I had to admit., wow, that's not something I'd expect myself to ever say.
I'm starting to understand why people like him so much, he's pretty nice.
But now here I am, ruining Evan and Nolan's party by fighting my Ex-Boyfriend. I'm confused, why is he here.
Hunter had been my best friend as a child, I only ever saw him when I visited my sisters in Ponoka, Alberta. I hadn't seen him again until last year. He told me he loved me, asked me to be his girlfriend. I didn't have the heart to say no so I said yes. He was clingy, but nice. It wasn't until a month later he started telling me things. He said I was the one he wanted to lose his virginity to, and when I said I wasn't ready he tried to bribe me. As if.  He then said that he used to bribe girls at school to draw them naked. I began to feel uncomfortable being alone with him, I told my sisters and my mom, and they tried to cover for me when he would try to come over. I tried avoiding him at school, but he'd always find me.
Eventually, he asked me to go to a corn maze with him. I had numerous people on speed-dial. When we got there, to the cornmaze, he was acting normal. He was being the same old Hunter I knew for most of my life. Until it happened.
He started acting strange again when we got closer to the center of the maze. He tried raping me, he started getting closer to me, forcing kisses on me and trying to undress me. I ran, calling the first number I saw. My best friend, Jade. She answered immediately. I explained the situation as I ran.
After that incident I never saw him again.
Until now.

I watch with a deep scowl on my face as he topples to the ground. His beer bottle spills across the carpet. Evan jumps out of the way. He looks like he wants to intervene but he doesn't know how.
He steps forwards slightly, putting a hand on hunters shoulder.
Hunter growls and swings a fist at him. Evan dodges quickly, startled, and I ounce on Hunter.
I throw multiple  swings at him, punching him without mercy. All the anger I had pent up towards him came out. Tears of anger seeped down my cheeks.
Hunter squirms under me. He kicks me off. I hear someone coming up the stairs and at that moment Hunter kicks me off, sending me back and nearly down the stairs. The person catches me and puts me back upright.
Hunter stands as I run back to him. He throws a punch, landing it on the side my jaw. Pain erupts through my face and I fall the ground. He grabs my hair and pulls me up, punching me in the stomach repeatedly and feel blood seeping from my mouth.
As my consciousness goes in and out, the room going dark then light back and forth, Evan pulls Hunter off and throws him.

Evan: THIS BITCH EMPTY!

YEET

Hunter lands a few feet away and he grunts as he hits the wall, denting the drywall.
Cheers are heard from the other party goers as the fight goes on and Evan stalks up to Hunter, grabbing his neck. I try to stand desperately but I can't, feeling pain in my ribs.
I forgot how strong he was.. Damnit!
Evan punches him in the stomach, making him grunt. He gets no time to breath before he lands another hard punch to his nose. He drags him away and down the stairs, and I gather just enough strength to watch him shove him out the door.
"YOU DON'T EVER LAY A HAND ON HER AGAIN! GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE! DON'T FUCKING COME BACK. THAT WAS JUST A WARNING" he yells and slams the door as Hunter staggers away. He begins to shut the party down, sending people home and I slink down to the floor again. My ribs ached and my jaw was beginning to bruise as well as my stomach. A door creaked open and Nolan staggered out of the bedroom.
He looked to me then down to Evan then back to me.
"Wha' happened"
