Luka sprinted across the grass, his feet barely touching the ground for longer than a second. His father lay screaming on the floor, alone. He had never seen one father without the other. Where Corey was, Panuleon was always two steps behind him. "Dad!" he yelled, falling to his side, trying to stop him from rolling around in pain. "What happened? Where's the tear?"
"Lucifer closed it," Vinny said, distracted by holding Oliver's head up who took a nasty fall against one of the shattered chandeliers. "Your dad is trapped in our world. We can't get home." Vinny stopped to see his reaction then regretted it. Luka shut his eyes in anguish. The young angel couldn't hide his worry as it stuffed his heart into space too small for a heart so big.
Luke held his dad and rocked him, trying not to panic, trying to think rationally but only focusing on the fact that his parents can't survive the separation. "We need to do something!" he cried as Rayvon and Corey's parents rushed to their side.
"There's nothing-" Vinny turned when Oliver's eyes moved to something in the distance. They saw a huge white wolf with silver markings, a smaller white wolf with identical purple markings, and a black wolf with William riding on it's back galloping towards them.
"I'm hallucinating," Oliver mumbled, dropping his head against his vampire's shoulder and collapsing against him, getting weaker and weaker by the second.
"Shh, save your energy," Vinny mumbled, lowering his already deep voice to seem smoother. His chocolate eyes followed a sight he never thought he'd see. Electricity crackled from the leading wolf's paws with each stride. Bolts wrapped up its legs like snakes on a pole, sounding like someone crunched wrappers every time a claw buried itself into the grass.
Jacota's wolf jumped over their heads, and in mid-air, he changed to his human form, skidding to a halt with one knee and one hand on the floor. He glanced around, assessing the chaos. "Where did the tear go?" he asked, getting a rushed explanation from Jeduthun the angel. Then, his eyes fell on Corey, and his emotions melted right through him. He has never heard such a heartfelt cry of sorrow or seen so much pain flowing from a stretched bond. Corey's bond wasn't just extended, it was clinging on by a strand thinner than a spiders web. Any sudden movement would break it and kill the human and the angel in an instant.
Jacota knew they were needed for the war, that's why the angels made their bond so strong in the first place. "I have to do something," he thought to Hunter.
Margo and Anthony had rushed out to see what was going on, and Hunter felt incredibly uncomfortable. "There's not much you can do. We have nothing that can open a tear."
"You're a God Jacota. If you can close tears, you can open them," Sam thought and saw an expression of appreciation from Hunter. If Jacota needed his confidence boosted, now was the best time to do it.
"He's right; you're strong enough Jay."

Panuleon leaked blood from his mouth when a demon dug an arrow into his chest, slow enough for the angel to feel and hear the crack of his ribs. "Corey," he whimpered, choking on the metallic taste like his mouth was full of coins.
"One couple down, many more to go," Lucifer grinned, standing above the angel. The light cast a yellow rim around his head, almost like a halo. "Don't you think it's unfair that you got eternal love and I'm stuck with these idiots?" The Devil glared at his demons who quickly lowered their gaze. "The soulmate I made for me ran off with my brother. I want revenge."
Panuleon spat out some blood to clear his airways. "Meloras deserves Jeronah. You'll die alone, just like fate intended."
The corners of Lucifer's lips trembled, and his eyes sank deep into his head, casting a horrifying shadow over his cheeks. "And your son will soon be an orphan. Think about that." He lifted a boot to kick the side of his head, but before Lucifer could set the kick into motion, someone with long black hair dived into him, sending them both crashing against the wall of the small room.
