Chapter 3//The News

We woke up the next morning to the smell of bacon and Claire smiled at me.

"That's nice."

"What?"

"Seeing you smile."

She blushed and I laughed.

"Come on."

We both got dressed and went downstairs. Karen was stood cooking while Scott Zach and Gray sat watching the News.

"Guys!"

We looked at Scott and he becomed for us all. We soon saw what he called us for.

"We have New footage from the Jurassic world Cctv of park maneger Claire Dearing releasing the great T-Rex. The Rex soon weakened the Indominous who was then eaten by the mosasaurs. These actions saved all the people in the bunker waiting for the ferry. What we still can't believe is that She outran the Dinosaur in heels!"

I looked at Claire and Karen went to turn it off.

"Don't. Please."

"Claire."

"Please."

Karen nodded and put the remote down.

"We now go to our correspondent Barry Walker who is outside Claire's sisters house. Barry what can you say?"

"Well Nick, we know that Claire Dearing ,park maneger, as well as Owen Grady the parks velociraptor trainer are staying at Karen Mitchell's house. All the curtains have been closed and no one has come out the house. We did hear screaming last night. We are guessing the events have caught up with them."

"Yes. Of course it's very tragic  what happened at the park yesterday can you tell us anymore."

"Yes it was a great tragedy but for now things are the same. Oh wait the upstairs curtains are open. We have our first glimpse of Miss Dearing and."

I didn't listen to the rest because when I looked Claire was gone. 

"Crap."

I ran up the stairs and found her staring out the windows. 

"They said I helped those people. I saved them. I didn't. I'm the reason some of them died."

"Come on."

"A male a now appeared in the window Nick."

"Who is it?"

"Owen Grady. He has kissed miss dearing and is pulling her away from the window."

"Wow is there a new relationship blooming?"

"Well from the footage we have, the two have been on quite a journey."

I walked back down with Claire just as they showed more CCTV footage.

"Here you can see Claire and Owen with two younger boys. We are getting reports they are the nephews. As you can see nick they have been onboard one hell of a journey."

"100% anyway we will leave you to it. On our next story a hurricane with 200mph winds are set to hit our area."

Karen turned off the Tv.

"Don't worry about the hurricane. I brought supplies."

Claire laughed. 

"Of course you did."

Claire's POV

Last night was awful. The blood, the screams, the death and fear. It's all I could think about. Lunch time came and the hurricane hit. I was thankful because it meant all the reporters had to leave. I was sat playing a game of chess with Zach when the power was lost.

"Checkmate."

Zach looked at the board.

"Your good."

I laughed and sat next to Owen. I snuggled into his side and I felt safe. I felt at home. The hurricane lasted all through the night and up until lunch the next day. I was walking down the stairs when I saw Karen grinning at me from ear to ear and Owen was stood next to her. I joined them and Owen looked at me.

"Claire dealing I love you so so so much. I never want to live life without you. I never want to imagine my life without you. You are the thing that makes me want to live everyday so Claire Dearing. Will you be my girlfriend?"

"Yes Owen! Yes! 1000  times yes!"

He span me around in his arms And for a moment I felt happy, safe, at home. But only for a moment.
