~Daniel's POV~
As soon as we walked into the dance Hazel told me I should tell y/n how I really felt today and I wanted to, she looked stunning as she always does, but when I tried, she friend zoned me, no she brother zoned me. After she called me a brother to her I knew I couldn't tell her, I know she didn't feel the same way about me. I need to find Hazel for advice. She was sitting with Heidi eating soft pretzels.
Hazel: "Daniel?! What are you doing, get back on the floor with y/n!"
Daniel: "I can't"
Hazel: "Why not?"
Daniel: "She doesn't like me like that. I tried to dance with her and she got confused by it, I tried to tell her how I felt and she said I was like a brother to her"
Hazel: "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry"
Daniel: "It's not your fault, she's way out of my league anyways"
Hazel: "Hey let's just enjoy the rest of the dance as one big friend group, no awkwardness, no confessions"
Daniel: "Sure"
Heidi: "Let's go meet back up with y/n and hang out"
We walked back to where y/n and I were just at and she was gone. In the distance I see y/n with the guy from science class she talks to, Garret. I watch them talk together, y/n laughing, then he grabs her hand and leads her back to the dance floor, her arms around his neck and his hands at her waist. I turn away and hold back the tears and pain I feel.
