After Daniel left to go find Hazel I stand there awkwardly thinking. *Is he running away from me?* *Does he like Hazel?* *Did I do something wrong?* My thoughts get interrupted by someone tapping my arm. I turn around and see a friend from science class, Garret.
Garret: "Y/n?"
Y/n: "Oh hey Garret! I thought you weren't coming?"
Garret: "I wasn't until my friend got a date to go with him then she bailed on him so I came with him since he already bought his clothes."
Y/n: "Very nice of you"
Garret: "What about you, why are you alone?"
Y/n: "Well I came with Daniel, Hazel and Heidi as a big friend group, unfortunately I wasn't asked out, haha"
Garret: "Wow that's surprising, you look amazing so their loss, and I guess mine. I'd ask you out if I would of known you didn't have a date"
Y/n: "Ehh it's fine and thanks"
Garret: "Well since we're here, would you be my date to the dance?"
Y/n: "Really? Sure"
Garret: "Cool, sorry I didn't come prepared with flowers for you."
Y/n: "It's all good Daniel got me this rose"
Garret: "Oh, where is he?"
Y/n: "He went to go find Hazel"
Garret: "So that's why you were alone?"
Y/n: "Well yeah"
The upbeat music ends and a slow song plays
Garret: "Want to dance? It's a slow song so it's okay if you say no"
Y/n: "Haha no it's alright, you are my date after all" he smiles and holds out his hand. You grab his hand and he leads you to the dance floor. He puts his hands on your waist and you wrap your arms around him his neck. You dance with Garret for the next few songs as well then take a break.
Y/n: "Thanks for a great time Garret but I should go find my friends"
Garret: "No problem, I'll see you in class"
You leave to go find your friends and see them all at the concessions.
