No one's POV
Zarkons empire had been growing stronger, and the paladins could not form Voltron due to the fact that there wasn't a blue paladin. They had searched all around the galaxy, trying to find one worthy enough to catch the blue lion's attention, until one day....(one year after the last chapter).
The paladins had been sent on a rescue mission to save some aliens from the planet Onyark (I made up the name). They had been separated into teams, Keith was paired with Shiro and Hunk was with pidge.
Keith's POV
"Ok, we'll sneak into the cell, take down the guards and free the prisoners, got it?" Shiro instructed. I nodded my head grimly and followed Shiro to where the prisoners were held captive (omfg whenever I say Shiro it autocorrects to shirk, like what!?). When we reached the cell we realized there was only one guard, he didn't look that galra though, in fact, he didn't look galra at all! He had sunkissed skin, and caramel hair that looked so soft I just wanted to reach out and touch it. He looked nearly human except for his face. What shocked was that on his cheeks were strange markings, Altean markings and that his ears were pointed and Peirce's with Altean jewellery, and his eyes, don't even get me started on his eyes! They were a beautiful blue, but not quite human. They were so gorgeous I could've gotten lost in them for da-NOT NOW GAY THOUGHTS!
Shiro turned and smirked as he saw me blush scarlet.
"Are you still bathing in his presence or can we go kick some ass?"
"Shiro!" I squeal, It must have been a little too loud though because just as I did, the soldier's ears perked up and he scowled. His beautiful shining blue eyes turned pearl white and dark mist gathered around him as he floated up in the air. I gaped in shock.
"Shit," Said Shiro, as the soldier turned around and shot him in the arm. Luckily he was shot in his metal arm, meaning it could be easily replaced. Just as I looked up the soldier tackled me to the ground, but when he saw me his eyes turned back to normal and his expression softened.
"Are you here for the prisoners?" He asked. "Or just to kill me?"
"The prisoners, of course! Why would anyone come here just to kill you?" I reply, not in a sarcastic tone, but more a curiosity.
"You don't know? Well, at least I'm not gonna die. Who are you?"
"Keith, paladin of the red lion." By now I'm beginning to become very suspicious of the soldier, why isn't he trying to murder me or something. Before I could drown in my train of thought I hear a lion roar and Pidges voice on the intercom soon after.
"Keith! The blues lion is acting funny! It's flying out of the castle and it looks like its coming in your direction, I need you to get the prisoners out now so you can help us see what's up with the lion!" She alerts me. The soldier seemed to know that I was in a rush because he hurriedly unlocked the prisoners and bring them up to me. Why was he letting them escape? I cocked my head to the side in confusion.
"Listen, dude. I may be fighting on the Galras side, but I won't kill people if it's not necessary. These people have families and lives to live. You think I'm gonna rob them of their freedom?" He said. Then he picked up a little girl and cradled her in his arms.
"You promise you'll be a good girl, Annie?" He cooed to her softly. The little girl smiled cheekily and said:
"Yeah! And I'll make sure Snuckims gets lots of cuddles (the name of her stuffed animal)! But, do we really have to go? Can't you come with us?" The girl said, and the soldier smiled sadly as he tucked a strand of hair back behind her ear.
"Sorry Annie, but I told you we would have to say goodbye someday." But just as he said that another roar was heard, louder this time. The blue lion burst through the cellar walls and ran towards the soldier, scaring him so much that he nearly dropped the girl, Annie. The soldier and the lion locked eyes for a moment before Blue opened her mouth and revealed the entrance to the ship.
"Pidge, I think we found our new paladin."
