A/N: So I originally had this posted on my fanfiction page but was told to stop posting there and post somewhere else so that is what I am doing. I hope people will still continue to read and comment this!
“Ready to go?” My dad asked, standing against the frame of my bedroom door.
I sighed deeply. “Yeah, whatever.” I pushed past him and made my way to the car.
“I don’t understand why you’re so upset with me. You get to help protect one of the hottest boy bands out there.” My dad said when he got into the car.
“I don’t care about that, Dad. I don’t want to spend my last summer before college getting trampled by a bunch of crazy teenage girls.”
“Honey, you aren’t going to college. You’re traveling and I’m going to be the one getting trampled. You’re mostly there to keep them company.”
“Great, I’m babysitting.”
My dad sighed, giving up on trying to get me to have a positive attitude.
My name is Elizabeth Cade and my dad is One Direction’s new security/body guard. Any other girl would be thrilled to get the chance to be in my position but I’m not. Sure, they’re talented and not the ugliest guys in the world but I would rather have fun with my friends than work with them.
We made it to the hotel, which was only a few hours from where I lived in California, that the boys just arrived too and it was now time to meet them. “Boys, this is Hank, you’re new head of security,” Paul, their manager, said. “And this is his daughter, Elizabeth.”
“Hi. I’m Liam.” Liam said holding out his hand for my dad to shake.
“I’m Zayn.” Zayn said.
“Niall.” Niall said.
“I’m Louis. It’s nice to meet you.” Louis said.
“And I’m Harry.” Harry said.
“It’s nice to meet you all.” My dad smiled. “This is my daughter, Elizabeth.” He said grabbing me by the shoulders and pushing me in front of him.
“I’m going to get us settled in our room.” I said breaking out of my dad’s grip. “I’ll see you later, dad. Um, bye guys.” I said awkwardly before sprinting out of the room.
I found the room my dad and I were assigned, which wasn’t hard to find considering it was next door. I started to pull my dad’s oversized suitcase into the room when it suddenly got freakishly light. I turned and met Harry. “What are you doing?” I asked.
“I’m helping you.” He said as if it was obvious.
“Why?”
“Because I am a gentleman.” He smiled.
“You don’t have to help me.” I said taking the bag and throwing it onto the bed in the front room.
“I know I don’t have to but I want to.”
“Whatever.” I said pushing past him and grabbing my suitcase.
“Do you hate us or something?” Harry asked, clearly frustrated.
I dropped my suitcase next to my dad’s and turned, looking at him. “No,” I sighed. “I’m sorry. This just isn’t exactly how I wanted to spend my summer.”
“Your dad is making you be here?”
“Yeah. He only made me come with him because he thinks that when August comes around and I leave I’ll never come back.” I don’t know why I was telling Harry this. He probably could care less.
“Well, is it true?”
“Is what true?” I asked confused.
“Are you going to leave and never come back?”
His question caught me off guard. “I don’t know.” I said looking at my hands.
“He just doesn’t want to lose you.” Harry said putting a friendly hand on my shoulder.
I smiled up at him. “Thanks. You’re probably right.”
“Harold! There you are! Are you trying to get in her pants already?” Louis asked running into the room. “Do you even know how old she is?”
I could feel my cheeks starting to burn.
“No! I wasn’t trying to get into her pants! I was helping her with her bags! I’m offended that you think so lowly of me!” Harry ranted.
Louis rolled his eyes and chuckled. “I was joking, Harold!” He ruffled Harry’s hair. “So,” He said turning his attention back to me. “Would you like some extra help?”
“Actually that was all the bags.” I said.
“Oh, alright. Now that you’re done you have no reason not to hang out with us!” Louis exclaimed, grabbing my hand and dragging me back toward the room next door. My dad wasn’t in there; he must have gone off with Paul to discuss business or something. “Boys!” Louis shouted. “Look who I got to hang out with us!”
I suddenly felt very self-conscious with all of them staring at me. I waved slightly.
“Welcome!” Niall grinned.
“I’m glad Louis got you back here. We didn’t get a proper greeting.” Liam smiled. “I’m Liam, the responsible one and to save some time that’s Niall, he loves food, Zayn, he loves mirrors, Harry, he loves women, but don’t worry we won’t let him near you, and that’s Louis, he loves to be loud.”
I giggled. “It’s nice to meet you all formally. I’m Elizabeth.”
“What do you love?” Liam asked.
“Um,” I thought a moment. “I love traveling.”
“And that’s what you get to do with us!” Louis squealed excitedly.
These boys were crazy! Maybe I would have some fun this summer after all.
