Anna
"Anna! Anne!" Diana barged into our room holding a lit lantern. " Minnie May is sick, we need to wake Miss Cuthbert!"
I stumble my words but managed to spill out that Marilla isn't at home and she went to see the premier. " Did you parents go as well?" Anne asked and Diana said a loud yes, "What's wrong with Minnie May?"
"I don't know, she's... she's choking, coughing, it's horrible!" Diana stutters as Anne and I got ready, " She needs a doctor!"
I walked out of the room and called Matthew as loudly as I could, " Put this on before you catch your death." I toss an extra coat of mine and begin to tie my shoelace [ a/n : what about bootlace? I mean they are wearing boots ]
"I have never seen a cough like this." Diana sobs harder than before.
"We have," Anne and I said at the same exact time, "Matthew, fetch a doctor to Berry's house, Anna and I will go home with Diana," Anne gave instructions to Matthew once he walked into our room which was filled with nervousness vibe.
Matthew nods and quickly did what he was told, afterwards, I went to fetch a medicine that I assume would help Minnie May state, " Matthew won't be back for hours, we will do everything we can before then."
Anne, Diana and I rushed out of the house, running into the woods taking the shortcut to the Berry's house.
Once we reached Diana's house, I immediately went to boil the water as Anne went to give the medicine to Minnie May. "Lean her over, make sure she is right above the steam," I told Diana — who was hugging Minnie May — after the water was boiled.
I walk to the medicine, "We used almost all of it. There's only one more dose, I want to get by with steam and night air until we're forced to use it."
"She's burning up!" Diana feels Minnie May's forehead as she looks at me and Anne with fear in her once filled with cheerfulness eyes.
"Prop her up into the window," Anne begin opening up the window behind Diana and Minnie May, "Breathing cold air will help." Diana passes Minnie May to Anne as they carefully put Minnie May outside the window.
"What on earth are you doing! Do you wish for her to freeze as well?" Aunt Joseph [ i can't remember her name :( ] exclaimed.
"Cold air is the doctor best friend when it comes when it comes to treating an incident like this." I began.
"You are not a doctor! I do not condone this!"
" We know what we are doing," I said as I took a cloth and rinse it under tap water and walked to Minnie May and pressed it on top of her forehead, hoping it would help by lowering down her fever, "Do you see the moon? Oh isn't she lovely? She's watching over you."
"Do you have some peppermint- I'll fetch an onion," Anne said and quickly find an onion. Anne brought it to the cutting board and began cutting up the onions, " It would take an hour or two before the doctor comes, or even if they come at all."
"Why do you say that?"
"Almost everyone went to Charlotte town to see the premier, it is a high chance the doctor went as well." Anne finished cutting the onions and putting under Minnie May's feet. "Raw onions, on the soles of the feet helps to bring the fever down."
