Friends? (Chapter 5, A First Impression)

(Yin's P.O.V)

"What.. what did he say? I'm.. a pet? I don't understand, he doesn't need me anymore! Why keep me here, why not get rid of me..?" I say to Lazerbeak, but mostly to myself. After a while of being on his shoulder, Soundwave left a few hours ago to get some stuff from my room.. so I'm waiting for him to get back. Lazerbeak was resting next to me, listening to my iPod. All of a sudden, the door opened loudly. "Soundwave, where are you?!" It was another robot, it looked feminine.. but sounded like a guy. "Soundwa- oh.. it's the new fleshling.." he said, looking at me up and down. "I'm not sure you know, but I'm Starscream, second in command!" He only said a few sentences to me and I can already tell he's a narcissist.

"Okay then.. Starscream, It's nice to meet you." I say, smiling. I could see he was taken aback by my words, but then smirked. "I wish I could say the same to you, pest. Now, where is Soundwave?!" He yelled at me, 'what's this guy's problem?' I thought. Starscream suddenly looked very angry at me. "How dare you say something like that to a superior being?! Why you little-" He kept yelling and yelling, 'How do people put up with him?' Little did I know I said those things out loud. "thAtS IT!!" Starscream suddenly grabs me away from the table and into his cold hands. "You will pay for this, human.." Oh geez I was in for it now. "L-Lazerbeak!" I yelled out, hoping it would wake him up. Sadly, he didn't, luck just wasn't on my side these days. Before I could say anything else, Starscream opened the door and walked quickly down the hallway with me in hand.

(Soundwave's P.O.V)

I opened a ground bridge in Yin's room, searching for things to take with me. I was overjoyed by the fact that I could keep her. Of course, I was in my holoform since I wouldn't really fit in my normal body. I took a laptop, some clothes, and a small white pillow. I would have to get the rest later, since this was all I could carry for now. Before I could open the ground bridge, I heard noises from downstairs. I turned my head toward the door, and slowly crept to it. I opened the door slowly, and looked down the hall. "W-what if we ne-never get to see her again?!" I could hear a voice say, 'are they talking about Yin?' I sighed, I backed away from the door, but the floor creaked, making a loud noise. "H-huh? Is.. IS THAT YIN??" I could hear a young boy scream from beneath me. I quickly opened the ground bridge and jumped through, closing it behind me.

I sat there for a while, then turned off my holoform. I looked over at the table, it seemed Lazerbeak was in recharge. I got up and walked toward him, waking him up. "Question: Where is Yin?" I said to him, he looked around the room. 'He doesn't know??' I put away the stuff I got and looked around the room, it did seem more messy than when I left it.. and Yin couldn't have moved these things. "Command: Find Yin." I said to Lazerbeak, then looked toward my monitor. I turned it on and looked through the surveillance footage of the Nemesis. There, she's oka- with Starscream?! What is he doing with her?! I immediately got up and ran out the door towards where they were.

I transformed into my alt form and flew quickly down the halls, passing a few mechs as I went. Left, right, right, left, and right again. When I finally got to where they were on the security camera, they were gone. I transformed back into my cybertronian form and looked around. 'I had never been this scared in my entire existence.. why now?' I thought to myself. I then heard a scream, from Yin?! I quickly ran toward the direction of it, it led to Predaking's cage. I knew what that idiot had in mind, and it won't happen. I opened the door, and what was is front of me made my spark sink.

(Yin's P.O.V)

Starscream opened a door, bigger than the others. When we got inside, what was in front of me made me freeze. A giant robotic dragon, bodies of other robots laid on the floor surrounding it. "H-hey wait, do-don't do this Starscream!" I yelled out. "What makes you think you can talk to me, fleshing?!" His hand gripped me tighter, making it hard to breathe. He slowly got closer to the beast, and threw me down in front of it. He backed away, grabbed a head, and threw it at the beast. I low grumble came from it, and it's head lifted, looking down at me. It starting to growl, which was not a good thing.. Then, it lifted a claw and tried hitting me. I quickly moved to the side, barely dodging it. Now knowing it wasn't a pacifist, I screamed louder than I ever had before.

The giant dragon raised it's claw again, preparing to strike. I closed my eyes, bracing for impact, but nothing happened. I then heard several mechanical noises, so I opened my eyes again. What stood in front of me.. was Soundwave. 'Did he block the attack for me?' I thought to myself. Soundwave turned to me, still holding up the claw, "Command: Run." He said, and I obeyed happily. I turned around and watched Soundwave try to calm the beast, while Starscream ran away. The dragon seemed to get angrier and angrier by the second.

(Soundwave's P.O.V)

I knew this wouldn't work, so I had a choice. Take Yin and retreat back to my office, or fight and protect her. I had little time to decide, so I went with fight. I'm not sure why though, I wanted to protect her..? Before I could think about it more, Predaking swung his tail at me, slamming me into the wall. I quickly got up and shot at his chassis, knowing it was his weakness. He roared loudly, shaking the cage slightly. I then climbed up his tail and onto his back. I kept shooting his neck, going up his shoulders, then to his head. I climbed up on his head and jumped off. I turned mid-fall and shot at his optics. I hit the floor harder than I thought, I looked down and my back was leaking energon.

I heard Yin call out to me, so I quickly got up. I looked over at Predaking, and he was on the floor whining, covering his optics. I walked around him and toward Yin, picking her up carefully. I looked at her up and down, scanning for any injuries. A scratch. Starscream will hope he never laid a digit on her after I'm done with him. I held Yin close to me as I opened the door, walking out into the hallway. I remembered the way, left, right, right, left, and right. I opened the door, and Lazerbeak was waiting for us on the desk. "SQuAk-" He said, as he glided towards us. "Statement: You're no help." I said to him in response, and he just laughed.

I put Yin down, and thought about what just happened. 'I just fought Predaking.. the only one of his kind.. for a human?' Even though I was confused, I was proud of myself for doing so. "H-hey.. Soundwave.. y-you're bleeding!" I heard Yin say, 'what did bleeding mean again? Oh.. leaking.' I looked at my back, and it was, in fact, leaking. "Statement: I will go see the medic, stay here." I said to Yin, and I turned to Lazerbeak, "Command: Actually try protecting her." I said to him. I walked toward the door, but before I could reach it, I heard Yin say something. "Hey.. Sounders? Thanks for saving me back there.." she called out. '...Sounders.' I remember her calling me that in text. I turned and smiled, before leaving toward the med bay.

                                                    I like that name.
