Chapter 4

Kaden's POV

I felt tired after the travel and just lay down on my bed. I haven't unpacked my bag.

I grab my phone and check some messages.

Message from my mom, my sister, and others.

One by one I replied to the messages when Sam suddenly pops up in my brain.

What is she doing now? Should I send a message or call her? What will I say?

My phone rang and I startled. I immediately pick up the phone but the class was cut off. It must have been ringing for a long time.

Damn! I had fallen asleep. I checked who was calling. "Sam".

I get up and went to the bathroom for a quick shower while thinking why is Sam calling in the middle of the night.

After the shower, I went down to the kitchen to look for some leftovers, I am really hungry. I forgot to eat dinner.

While searching for food, my phone rings again. I looked at the caller ID, it is Sam.

"Hello, Sam! Nice to hear from you."

"Hi, did I wake you up?"

"No, not really, just looking for some food. What's up?"

"Just want to talk. I can't sleep. What are you up to?"

"Just checking for some food. I fell asleep and forgot to eat dinner. I am famished now!" I said with exaggeration.

"You are so funny, Kaden! What are you eating now?"

"Ahmm, still looking for some leftovers. I think I'll have some fried chicken. So, why can't you sleep? Thinking of me?" I smiled.

"Maybe..."

"Maybe? you are not sure if you are thinking of me?" I laughed.

"I was not thinking of you until I called you. Where you been by the way?"

"Oh, we had a team building in a resort. It was fun and tiring."

"That is nice. By the way, where are you from?"

"I am not from here. It is actually my first time to stay in a place far from my home. I missed my family and friends."

"Did you just go here for work?"

"Yes," I said in between chewing the chicken. I like to help my family so I went here to continue the company here. The owner is my friend and I am living with him since I don't know anyone here."

'Wow! How long have you been here?"

"Maybe 2 months."

"So, have you been to places here?"

"Not really, I just go wherever my friends will go. I am afraid that I might get lost here. This is a big city, you know."

"When I am free, I will tour you around. This is my hometown so I am very familiar with popular places."

"That is nice of you but you are always busy," I said in a sad tone.

"Don't worry I will find a time, I promise."

"Okay, let me know when so I can ask my boss for a leave. I am a little excited."

I smiled and hoping that she will really find the time. she is always busy and doing a lot of things.
