Sam's POV
We were down to our third bottle when we started talking about our jobs.
"What do you do?" I asked Kaden.
"I am a supervisor in a small contact center."
"Oh like my job."
"Not really, your company is huge and mine is just small. And we don't take in calls but mainly thru chat and emails only. How about you, what exactly do you do because you seem so busy."
"Well, as you saw earlier, I work in a call center."
"I mean what is your position?"
"Well, I am a supervisor, like you."
"I don't think so. You seem to have a higher position."
"Okay, you got me. I am the operations manager."
"Wow!"
"Sorry, my mistake. Officially today, I am the country manager."
I can see through Kaden's face that she was surprised. I really don't want to bring this up because I felt a little shy. I am proud but not too proud.
"Officially today? What do you mean?"
"I got promoted earlier this morning."
"Congratulations!" Kaden sincerely greeted me.
"Thanks. That is why we are celebrating."
"Wow, I am honored to celebrate with you?"
I looked at Kaden's lips. It is so plumped and red. What am I thinking just now? I turned away from my thoughts and stared at the glasses on the table.
We continued talking about ourselves and asked each other more questions about ourselves.
We finished all the beers when Kaden asks to go home. "I think we better go home now. It's almost 2 am."
"Would you like to go home now?" I asked directly looking at Kaden's eyes.
"How about you? Do you want to go home now?"
"Hmmn. Yes, I feel a little tired and a little dizzy."
"Okay, I will accompany you to your house before I go home."
I nodded and pick up my things. We walked while Kaden is holding my hand.
We hailed a cab going to Sam's house.
When we got there, Kaden helps me in opening the door.
She helps me lay down on the bed and she removed my shoes. I was feeling dizzy so I really need to close my eyes. I felt that Kaden sat down beside me.
I felt a damp cloth on my face. I opened my eyes a little and saw that Kaden was wiping my face with a towel. I unconsciously told Kaden: "Kaden, don't go. I know you are also tired. Sleep here with me. You can check the second drawer for some shirts and shorts."
I moved to the other side of the bed and comfortably positioned myself.
"How about you? Aren't you going to change?" Kaden asked me.
I raised my arms asking for Kaden's help to assist me to stand up. Kaden reached for my arms and help me get up.
"Don't worry I am not drunk, I am just tired and sleepy because of the beer," I told Kaden and smile while she searched for some shirts.
