Her Affection

Chapter 9

They finished drinking their second bottle when Sam asked Kaden.

"What do you do?"

"I am a supervisor in a small contact center."

"Oh like my job."

"Not really, your company is huge and mine is just small. And we don't take in calls but mainly thru chat and emails only. How about you, what exactly do you do because you seem so busy."

"Well, as you saw earlier, I work in a call center."

"I mean what is your position?"

"Well, I am a supervisor, like you."

"I don't think so. You seem to have a higher position."

"Okay, you got me. I am the operations manager."

"Wow!"

"Sorry, my mistake. Officially today, I am the country manager."

Kaden was so shocked to hear that the person she is with right now is a very accomplished woman. 

"Officially today? What do you mean?"

"I got promoted earlier this morning."

"Congratulations!" Kaden sincerely greeted Sam. 

"Thanks. That is why we are celebrating."

"Wow, I am honored to celebrate with you?"

Sam looked at Kaden's lips. It is so plumped and red. She turned away from her thoughts and stared at the glasses on the table.

They continued talking about themselves and asked each other more questions about themselves. 

They finished all the beer, then Kaden said "I think we better go home now. It's almost 2 am."

"Would you like to go home now?" Sam asked directly looking at Kaden's eyes.

"How about you? Do you want to go home now?" 

"Hmmn. Yes, I feel a little tired and a little dizzy."

"Okay, I will accompany you to your house before I go home."

Sam nodded and pick up her things. They walked while Kaden is holding Sam's hand. 

They hailed a cab going to Sam's house.

When they got there, Kaden helps Sam in opening the door. She realized that Sam is renting an apartment. 

She helps Sam lay down on the bed and she removed her shoes. She sat down beside Sam while trying to find a towel that she can use to wipe Sam's face. She found a towelette on a hanger and grab it and went to the faucet to wet it. 

"Kaden, don't go. I know you are also tired. Sleep here with me. You can check the second drawer for some shirts and shorts."

Sam said then she fixed herself on the bed. She positioned herself on the other side of the bed. 

"How about you? Aren't you going to change?" Kaden asked though she is still thinking if she will accept Sam's offer. 

Well, it's already late to go home. I don't want to disturb my housemates. We will just sleep and rest, that's it.

Sam raised her arms asking for Kaden's help to assist her to stand up. Kaden reached for Sam's arms and help her get up. 

"Don't worry I am not drunk, I am just tired and sleepy because of the beer." She said to Kaden and smile while she searched for some shirts.
