The baker, the barber's wife, and the adopted son stood frozen in the cellar. They didn't know what the hell to think. Mrs. Lovett could only imagine Todd was out on a bloody killing spree to ease the tension.

".... What'd he ask you?" Lucy's unsteady voice spoke. She was pale as ever and voice trembling in fear.

"... He wanted me to-" The baker took a huge gulp. "Run away with the both of you," she whispered.

Lucy immediately felt betrayed. She felt sick to her stomach as it knotted up in twists. She stood up and stared at Mrs. Lovett. "You're kidding me, right? He wanted you to join us?"

"That's what he asked me, dear," Mrs. Lovett's trembling voice replied.

Lucy then immediately rushed out of the cellar just as Todd did before and rudely pushed Mrs. Lovett aside. Her husband wouldn't betray her like that? Or would he? After all his mind is a bit broke. She entered the pie emporium and exited the pie emporium and straight up the stairs.

"Benjamin wouldn't of asked her that. He wouldn't of," she assured herself. When she came upon the barber parlor's door she looked through the window. An empty room. The furniture was still there, but not one living creature resided. She gently and slowly pushed in the door; the bell at the top crying out a small ring. "Ben?" She called. Her eyes scanned the entire room. Nothing but a dark room. "Benjamin, you in here, dear?" No reply. A freezing, fearful chill ran down her spine. Her eyes then locked on a small piece of paper that sat perfect on the seat of the barber chair. The paper was folded and a bit crumpled up. Her hand reached for the paper and slowly unfolded it. The second she could see letters it was his exact penmanship. She then immediately read the paper.

The word 'insane' just rang through her mind. The words 'I'm sorry' pierced her heart. And the way he signed his true name knocked the wind out of her lungs. She didn't know where the hell he could of gone. The paper then fell to the floor and she immediately rushed out the door. She ran onto the porch and hands gripped the wooden railing. She looked out onto the streets; hoping the barber couldn't of gotten far. The streets were dark and dim and not one sign of Todd lit up.

Just as the wife was about to rush down the stairs and begin running through London, Mrs. Lovett came out of her shop and looked up to Lucy on the porch.

"He's not in there is he?" Mrs. Lovett whispered. Her eyes didn't leave Lucy's. Lucy only nodded and rested her head on his hand. "Do perhaps know where he went?"

Lucy shrugged her shoulders. She didn't care about the baker at the moment. She was too worried and scared about Todd to even give one thought about Mrs. Lovett.

"C'mon, dear," Mrs. Lovett stated as she gestured her to come down. "At any moment the bloody law could be beating him to death, we're gonna find him."

"You just want to 'cause if he sees you helping him he'll fall for you," Lucy sighed. "I'll find him on my own." She then marched over to the stairs and began walking down the steps.

".... Lucy, I just wanted to find him to know he's safe," Mrs. Lovett whispered. "Look, once we find him I'll stay out of your and his life forever-" A sudden clap of thunder caught off her sentence. A snap of lightning lit the sky for half a second. "Its about to rain, dear, just let me help you find him and I'll leave."

Lucy stayed at the step in the middle of the stair and looked at the baker. She knew she loved him. It was clear as day. Rain began to fall, but it was only a few drops at a time.

"Fine," Lucy sighed. She then began running down the stairs with the end of her dress clutched in her hands. "Where do you think he could of ran off to?"
