Did he seriously just say those words, or was the baker just thinking he said it? No, he actually said those words. He actually said and meant those words. His eyes were locked on hers like before. He couldn't deny the fact that she had always been there when he fell anymore. He couldn't push that fact aside anymore.

Lucy was in a state of shock. She knew her husband might of had feelings for the baker, but she never thought he'd admit it right in front of her. She actually kind of expected this. The harsh fifteen years and dreaded months in the asylum truly had broke his bones and twisted his mind in all sorts of directions.

"Ben?" Lucy trembled.

"...That man is dead," Todd whispered to where no one could hear. He then looked up at his wife. She strangely didn't feel like his wife anymore. "Lucy, my dear, there was a time I truly, and deeply loved you. But as a wise woman once told me..." He then looked to the baker. "Pain makes people change."

"... oh," Lucy whispered. The wind was knocked out of her.

"Lucy, you know I love you, I do with all my heart... but..." He obviously didn't know what else to say. The woman he'd try so hard to avenge was now a woman who didn't seem as he remembered. How could she love a murderer back? How could she care for some homicidal maniac who is completely out of his mind. Only one person could do that and that was Eleanor Lovett. The baker even waited for the man to returned. She kept his razors, knowing one day he'd be back.

"Benjamin. Ya don't need to say it. I understand. Just know I do love you," she whispered as her eyes began to water up. It pained Todd to see this, it even surprisingly pained Mrs. Lovett. "I guess I should go find a place of sorts and-"

"Lucy," Todd spoke in a depressed voice. "Are you sure? I mean, how are ya gonna get by? And-"

"I'll find a way, Ben," she smiled at his concern. She then bent down in front of the barber and stared into his eyes. He wasn't her Ben anymore. He wasn't that same, caring Benjamin Barker. His eyes weren't caring, forgiving and loving, they were instead dark, bloodlust, and defiantly the definition of a mad man.

Todd then leaned forward and pressed his lips against hers. It would be their last kiss as the spark in their relationship had finally dimmed and the burning flame went out. And it happened to be one of those rare moments when he shed a tear. Lucy finally pulled away and brushed her yellow hair out of her face.

"Keep care, Ben. I-"

"My dear, don't be saying goodbye," Todd whispered and stood on his feet. "Think of it as... I'll see you later, I'll see you soon. Never would I want to say goodbye to you."

This time Lucy leaned forward and kissed him on the lips with a tear running down her cheek. Todd moved his hand on her soft cheek and brushed her watery tear away. "Don't cry," he whispered. "Now you keep care out there, alright? And-"

"Better yet, love," Mrs. Lovett gently interrupted. "Take my shop, I'll even leave ya enough money to make it through."

"...That's very generous but I couldn't possibly-"

"I insist, dear," Mrs. Lovett smiled and approached Lucy. "It's not like I can take the place while I'm on the run."

"Lucy, take it please. With the house I'll know you're safe," Todd added. Then an unpleasant sound filled the air. Rapid running against cement and yelling came louder and louder. "We need to keep moving, they're close!" Todd exclaimed. He pushed both Mrs. Lovett and Lucy forward; hoping they'd be able to make it to the pie emporium before the police.

It was a stranger situation they were in. Todd and Lucy pulled away from each other, but it felt strange. He had been fighting for years just for her, and when he finally has her in his arms, something felt missing. He wanted to think it was just the saying if you love something you'll let it go, but it didn't seem like that. His head was pounding from all the thinking and legs were aching from the constant running, that and there was a freaking bullet lodged in one of the legs.
