XIII. I LOVE YOU

  

"I have something to confess." Betty said as they all sat around the table and Hal and Alice look to each other. "Well, what is it, honey?" Alice asked as Enoch looks to his twin sister at his side. "While the Black Hood was first hurting people.. He was also calling me. Asking me to do things. He said I was like him." She said and Enoch looks at their mother.

"He offered me to help get rid of Chic. So I delivered Chic to the Black Hood. If he's dead.. I'm an accomplice to murder. And I think I'm okay with that." She says and Enoch looks at her again then at their father. "The truth is there's always been this darkness inside me.. I thought Chic could help me understand it but really, it was the Black Hood who did.." She says, looking to their father.

"Honey." Alice says, reaching out to her hands. "I don't know what to say." She says as Enoch puts his hand to Betty's back, making his twin look to him but then look away when their father spoke, "Betty." Then he reached out, holding her hand.

"I experience it, too. The darkness. When I was away from you two and your mother, it felt like I was drowning in it. It's why we need each other." He says and Enoch pulls Betty closer. She puts her head to his shoulder, feeling comfort in his arms.

Enoch walks into the police department, looking for Sweet Pea and when he saw him, he walks over and pulls him into a hug. "I heard about what happened at the debate. Thank God, you're okay.." The serpent whispered to him and he hugs him more tighter. "I was worried about you the whole time, how are you holding up? Is Fangs getting released?" He asked and Sweet Pea nodded his head.

"Tonight." He says and Enoch pulls away, pressing his lips to Sweet Pea's. "I love you. And if anything happens, stay safe, be careful.." He whispers and Sweet Pea stares into his eyes. "I love you too.." He whispers and then leans in again, their lips meeting in another kiss which lasts longer.

"We can't take Fangs out the front, we have to take the side entrance." Jughead said to the new sheriff as Sweet Pea puts his hand into Enoch's. "Crowd's out there, too. Pick your poison." The Sheriff replied with and Enoch looks at Sweet Pea. "What do we do, man?" He asked, looking at Jughead.

"I don't wanna die." Fangs said, making Enoch look at him. "Hey. You're not going to." Jughead said, turning to Fangs. He grabs his face, "look at me, okay?" He says and Fangs nods. "We stand together," he says as he puts his hand to Sweet Pea's shoulder, "so none of us falls. In unity, there is strength." Jughead said then they all huddle together.

"In unity there is strength!" They say and Enoch puts his hand to Sweet Pea's back. Sweet Pea looks at him, "you don't have to come with us.." He says and Enoch raised a hand to his face. "I want to.." He says and Sweet Pea nodded, leaning down to him and pressing a kiss to his forehead. "Be careful.." He whispers and Enoch nods. "You too.." He replied then he grabs onto Sweet Pea's waist, Sweet Pea wrapping an arm around his shoulder's. Then they head out the door, Sweet Pea holding onto Fangs. They push through the crowd, the crowd that aas yelling and pushing, they wanted justice for Midge.

Enoch wanted justice for Midge too, but not from this, killing a teenager who's not even guilty for killing her. He didn't kill her and Enoch knew that. Enoch looks behind them, only to see Reggie, he turns back around, grabbing onto Sweet Pea's waist more tighter. They continued walking through the crowd some more but then Sweet Pea looked back.

As Sweet Pea looks back at Reggie being tackled onto the ground by Archie, Enoch lets go off him as he continued walking, but then a gunshot rang through the air and Sweet Pea grabs him right away, to protect him as screams filled the air.

"SP, I'm fine.. Are you?" Enoch said, turning to him and Sweet Pea nodded, then looked behind him. "Fangs." He says and then rushed to the other Serpent's side. Enoch looks at them, seeing the bullet wound on the Serpent's body.

Enoch rushed to kneel beside Sweet Pea, "don't add pressure to the wound!" He says then takes out his phone. "I'm gonna call for an ambulance." He says as he stood up, walking away as Sweet Pea looks to the two Bulldogs on the ground just a few feet away then over to his boyfriend on the phone.

At the hospital, Enoch seperates from Sweet Pea to head home because of his mom telling him to go home, and when he did, he heads upstairs to take his coat off and set his bag down. When he hears the front door open then close, he heads downstairs. "Betty? Hey.. Are you okay?" He says, walking over and standing next to her.

"Yeah.. I'm heading to check on dad, are you coming with?" She asked and he shook his head. "I-I have to stay home. Riots and such, mom wants me home.." He says and she nodded her head as she put on his jacket. "Lock the door and stay safe." She says, heading for the front foor and he looks all around the house, a million worries in his head.

As Enoch sat at the couch with her mom walking over to sit beside him, Betty walked in through the door. "Mom! Mom, where are you?" She says as she walks into the room while Alice hands Enoch a cup of tea. "Betty. Thank God you're okay, I've been calling you. Where have you been?" She asked as she grabs another cup of tea.

"Mom, is dad here? Is he—?" She whispers to them. "Yeah, honey. Why?" Alice whispers to her and Enoch looks up at Betty with a confused look. "Where is he?" Betty asked as she reached out, grabbing both of Enoch's and their mother's hand.

"What's going on? What?"

"We have to leave. We have to go." Betty says and Enoch pulls his hand away with a confused look. "Betty!" Their father's voice startles her, turning around instantly. "You made it home." He says, walking to the back of the couch where a projector was set up and Enoch smiles.

"Your dad has some crazy idea to show us old home movies. I figured we indulge him, since we're practically on lockdown anyway." Their mother says and Enoch looks at her then takes out his phone to check and see if there was a call. "What's wrong?" Alice asked since Betty was staring at their father. "Well, I'm just happy we're all here. As a family." Hal said when Alice looks over at him.

"Bumble Bee, sit down." Enoch says and so Betty sat down, looking at the screen. "Yeah, Betty, I think you're really going to enjoy this." Hal said then walked around to sit next to Alice on the couch who had Enoch on the other side of her.

him but i would never
wish death for someone
no matter how much
i disliked them. especially
whether they are fictional
or not, i still wouldn't. )
