“Rosie!” Mum screamed from downstairs. I shoved an extra pillow to my face. I just wasn't in the best mood this morning and I wanted all of them to know that. A lot of things happened yesterday. Is it okay to say that I don't feel like telling my parents why I want to move back home for awhile?

Five minutes later mum comes storming in my bedroom. In her baby blue bathrobe and white fuzzy slippers, both hands were placed on her hips. “It's time for you to wake up now, Rosie. I know you aren't feeling you're best this morning as you came to our house late at night. Over sleeping isn't going to help you with anything, so please join me downstairs for late breakfast alright?”

“Yeah, sure.” I spoke a bit annoyed. I didn't feel like getting out of this comfortable bed. The warmth around me felt so good I could go on and sleep til the day I die. Mum nodded her head, but watched me to make sure I listened to her.

Walking downstairs I spotted the dining room table filled with the food that she cooked. There was steam still rising so I'm guessing it's still fresh and delicious. Dad was out running errands so he wasn't here to join us.

     “What's this?” I asked.

“Oh, this is one of your favorite dishes you always wanted me to cook for you before you used to head to school. I remember one time when I woke up late you were so angry that I didn't make your breakfast. Instead you had to have basic milk and cereal.” Laughing to herself, she passed over a plate of what she cooked.

The scent of the food made my nose cringe a little. It looked really appetizing and good, but the smell just wasn't the best. Mum had took a few bites already enjoying her meal. On the other hand, I sat there staring at it as if it was going to do anything. Curiously, mum asked what was wrong.

Shrugging my shoulders I didn't really know what to say. I didn't want to come off rude. “I don't know. It smells a little weird.”

“What?” Mum chuckled, “Rosie this has been your favorite dish ever. Something's a little different about you and believe it or not, I think you're being clueless to what is going on.”

I furrowed my eyebrows together. “Just because I said the food smells a little weird you think that I'm different? Geez I just don't feel like eating anything at the moment. Can I go back upstairs and die in a corner?”

Mum arched her eyebrows. She placed her fork down on the plate staring at me. “You're acting like- you know what never mind. You can may go back to sleep if you want. At least wake up for dinner later then.”

“No,” I paused for a second, “What do you mean when you said I'm acting like something? Tell me and I just might eat this.”

“It's nothing. Forget about it okay?” Mum poured herself a glass of water acting like nothing happened.

“Mum! Tell me!” I whined like a little child.

“Rosie, I can't.” She spoke sternly.

“Yes you can! You're my mum. You're supposed to tell me everything.”

Shutting her eyelids, mum inhaled a deep breath. “You're acting like that time when Harry did something to you. You refused to eat, you were moody, you were annoyed at everything, but there's something a little different. You refuse to eat your favorite meal just because of the smell. Did you and Harry. . .?

My eyes opened wide. “What? You think I'm pregnant? Mum, I'm just- I don't know. And no we didn't have sex alright? And if we did I'm pretty pregnant is not the answer.”

“Oh my flipping god! Rosie you're pregnant! No! No! No!” Mum got up from her chair and rushed to the living room.

     “What are you doing?”

“I'm calling your father to buy a pregnancy test.” She dialed his phone number.

“Stop! I'm not pregnant, okay? Just calm down a bit. I'm just moody because it's a girlfriend thing.” Mum quickly ended the call as soon as she dialed Dad's number. She slipped her phone back in her jeans pocket.

     “And you're sure?” She asked.

“Yes, I promise I'm not pregnant. Besides Harry and I used protection so we're all good.”

As soon as that sentence flew out my mouth she gasped. “I knew it! I knew you two had sex.”

“Can we drop this now?” I begged.

“Yeah. Let's drop this.” She said. I nodded and gave her a hug.

In the middle of the night my stomach began grumbling. I remembered after I hugged mum, I immediately rushed to my bedroom to go back to sleep. I did wake up for dinner, but that was a couple hours ago. Hungrily, I headed downstairs to find a snack from the cupboard.

Realizing that mum was in the living room watching a late night movie, she quietly followed after me to watch what I was doing. “Chocolate at 1 AM?” she spoke suddenly.

I jumped nearly having a heart attack from hearing her voice. “Geez! You literally gave me a heart attack. And yes, chocolate. I'm craving something to eat at 1 AM. Is that bad?”

     “Pregnancy,” she cooed.
