His green emeralds orbs glister underneath the tree. His pink plump soft lips are curved up slightly. His warm, long slender fingers intertwine with my small ones. The pad of his thumbs traces small sketches on top of mine as I stare up at the dark sky. His curls sway to one direction as they hang over his forehead. A dimple appearing as his smile grows wider. He shifts his head, eyes reconnecting together.
“You look nervous. Are you alright, Rosie?” he questions. Millions of random stuff runs up in my mind. The consequences of getting caught on an abandoned property with the perfect view. Harry once promised me that one day we were going to tear down the house and build a new one for the both of us.
I shake my head, “I'm scared. What if we get caught?” I furrow my eyebrows together, and lay my head against his shoulders. His scoots closer, wrapping an arm around my waist bringing friction together. He leans down and sloppily kisses my forehead.
“We won't get caught, babe. I'll be here protecting you,” he whispers softly. I shut my eyes as we cuddle under the blanket.
A loud slam echoes throughout the house causing me to shriek. Leigh sighs miserably as she kicks her UGG boots by the door, and rushes to the living room where I was taking a short nap. I groan from the sight of tired and horrified looking Leigh. Not a smile or smirk is plastered on her face. I arch an eyebrow at her.
“What happened with you? You look awful,” I admit. Leigh rolls her eyes, rising from her seat, and lies next to me on the couch cushion. Leigh stays silent for some reason. Whenever she's silent, that is a signal telling me something went wrong. Leigh is a talkative, fearless girl who does whatever she wants, and won't care about other people’s opinions. Sometimes I wish I could step out of my uncomfortable and fear full zone to see how Leigh lives.
“Louis dropped me off. We walked all around town visiting places which were so flipping exhausting! And you’re right about earlier. Louis and I do get along pretty well. Did I mention we have everything in common? It's crazy! So, how was your date with Harry this morning?” I shut my eyes. That painful and rough morning wasn't as planned as I thought it would be. I was hoping it would be a smooth and causal talk about our lives.
Leigh rolls of the couch and lands on the floor. She hugs her knees tightly, shaking her head. “I knew this would happen. I swear I'm going to kill that guy,” Leigh mutters to herself. I join her on the floor and rub her back in circular motions. Leigh will always be my protective older sister. She's wiser about guys than I am.
“I wish I listened to you this morning. He still hasn't changed much.” I admitted.
“Yeah, you really should! I'm your good luck charm. Anyways, mind telling me what happened?”
“We got into a big argument about our interviews we did with Ellen DeGeneres. You and Harry were the actually the only people who could tell I was lying. At least he finally admitted he misses me. That's a good start towards friendship, right?” Leigh nods her head.
“Rosie,” she starts out. “I really don't want to see you getting hurt again. I understand you both miss each other, but I just don't think you guys should be more than friends. There are other people that will treat you better than Harry will. Such as Josh Hutcherson! You two would look so cute together.” My heart shatters in pieces. I thought that after two years Harry and I could pick up the pieces and complete the puzzle. Leigh's right. She is always right, but with this situation, I have to disagree with her.
Leigh's face softens as she sees a hurt expression on my face. “Okay, maybe not Josh, but is really going back to Harry going to make you happy? Maybe if you introduce him to me one last time to see if he's right for you that would make everything better. He's a flirt, Rosie. Just keep that in mind.”
“How about we just meet up with the boys at the beach tomorrow? Sound good?” Leigh squeals excitedly, hugging me tightly.
“Did you know that Louis is single now?”
I look at her confused, “No, he's with Eleanor.”
“Nuh-uh! She broke up with him a few days ago.”
“And you’re happy about this?” I question her. She slightly smiles and shakes her head.
“No, but no one knows about that except me. Does that mean I'm a special person?”
I giggle, “Your very special, Leigh.”
