“What if I mess up?” I whisper. Harry leans in and kisses the top of my forehead. His long slender hands roam down my arms, all the way down to my hands. He intertwines our hands together and shuts his eyes. I inhale a deep breath, letting it go, and close my eyes as well.
“You won't mess up, Rosie.” Harry encourages. I shake my head in disbelief. Thousands of people are sitting in these area with cameras and phones filming my performance. I could forget the lyrics and hum my way through the chorus, but that shows them I made a mistake. Nights like these, I get stressed and tend to forget the lyrics.
“Everyone makes mistakes, love. But I know you won't because if you forget I'll be sitting in the very front row mouthing out the words to you. Just believe in yourself. The fans will just laugh about it and forget it the next day anyways. Close your eyes and listen carefully. You hear that? They're cheering your name,” Harry coos in my ear. I smile and close my eyes imagining the crowd.
“Rosie Evans, your on in five.” The manager announces. Harry lets go of my hands and kisses me softly on the cheek.
“Gotta go to my seat, babe!” Harry pats my shoulder and ushers out of the room. I rise up from my chair and get ready for a night that will be unforgettable. The crew workers hand me my special made mic as I walk behind stage and count to three.
“Did we forget anything, Leigh?” I question her. We have to get to the airport two hours early to get hair, makeup, and outfits ready for the opening act. Leigh shakes her head, looking around the living room one last time. She glances at my pockets and gasps loudly. She runs back upstairs to my bedroom and retrieves my iPhone. She ushers downstairs, dropping my phone in my hands and nods reassuringly.
“Your an absolute life saver.” I comment.
“I know, Rosie. What would you do without me?” Leigh teases. We chuckle and head to the car to drive to the airport. Leigh roams her fingers over the buttons trying to find a perfect song to listen to. I slap her hand away from the buttons, flashing her a stern look. She pouts and presses the button one more time.
In the beginning
I never thought it would be you
When we were chillin
Smiling in the photo booth
But we got closer (Yeah)
‘Till you were eating off my spoon
And coming over
And we would talk all afternoon
Tonight we’ll just get drunk
Disturb the peace
Bind your hands all over me
And then you bite your lip
Whisper and say, “We’re going all the way”
Tonight, take me to the other side
Sparks fly like the Fourth of July
Just take me to the other side
I see that sexy look in your eyes
