"This is Jaebum. He's going to play with us now."
Mark dragged a ragged looking boy forward, his straight black hair curtaining his sour face. The three other boys stared at him in disbelief.
"That's Youngjae, that's Yugyeom, and that's Bambam", Mark introduced. Jaebum glanced at each of them with dark look.
"I don't want to play with him, he looks mean", Yugyeom complained as usual. Bambam gripped his arm and shook his head, signaling his disagreement.
"Hi Jaebum! Do you want to be a cop or a robber?", Youngjae asked, trying to get their game set up before recess ended. Jaebum simply shrugged shyly.
"He can't be any!", Yugyeom interjected, and all the boys turned to give him a look. Bambam shook his head.
"He play", the Thai boy said firmly. Yugyeom rolled his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Fine. He can be a robber."
"No", the new boy said suddenly. All boys turned to look at him with a puzzling expression. "I want to be a cop."

"Hey Kim, where were you yesterday?"
Yugyeom froze as he heard the voice of his friend Jackson. If Jackson was there, someone else surely was too...
He turned around and just as he expected, Bambam was glaring at him darkly from Jackson's side. Bambam always followed Jackson around like a lost puppy when Yugyeom was busy or they were in a fight.
"Um, I was sick", Yugyeom said, trying to keep up his lie by coughing weakly. Jackson, forever the gullible jock, fell for it quickly.
"Oh my god, are you okay?!", he asked, grabbing Yugyeom by the shoulders. The taller removed himself from the boy's grasp, smiling weakly. He glanced over at Bambam but the other simply huffed and turned away, his arms crossed over his chest. He always became a total drama queen when they got in fights.
"Yeah, I'm fine Jackson. Actually, have you seen Mark?"
Jackson nodded excitedly. "Yeah, he was outside talking to Taeyong, but he's probably sucking his dick by now."
Yugyeom rolled his eyes and thanked Jackson before heading off to find Mark.
He didn't know what he was going to do when he did find the other, but the thought of his friend made him feel more comfortable.
He was rushing through the halls so quickly that he nearly ran into a certain girl with medium length black hair.
"Oh!", Mina gasped as Yugyeom nearly toppled into her, grabbing onto his arms for support. She smiled widely when she saw it was him and Yugyeom felt as though he was going to throw up again.
"Are you feeling better?", Mina asked, tucking a lock of dark hair behind her ear. It only reminded Yugyeom of that night, when that same hair had tickled his bare chest.
"Um", Yugyeom stuttered, his face as red as a tomato, refusing to look in her dark eyes. God, he was such an asshole, leading this girl on and then dumping her. He felt horrible, not just because of what he was going to do to her, but because this was Mina, someone he had known and admired for years.
He needed to tell her the truth.
"Can we talk after school?", Yugyeom asked, the words coming out jumbled and rushed. Mina deflated and she quickly replaced her disappointed expression with a faked smile.
"Yeah, of course. Where?"
"The table outside?"
"Sure."
Then they went silent, and Mina stared up at him. She seemed both hurt and worried and Yugyeom wanted nothing more than to bury himself where he stood.
"I'll see you later." Mina smiled half-heartedly and walked away with a small wave. Yugyeom returned the wave, only glancing at her for a second before looking away.
He'd really fucked up this time.
