Chapter 10: Fight

I had been getting better after my meeting with the headmistress. I no longer had a sunken face or black circles under my eyes. My grades rose back up and I was once again at the top of my academic classes. The long day of classes had come to an end and I was currently sitting on my bed with a book on Transfiguration to help me finish my homework. My long dark brown hair was placed over my shoulder in soft waves where Midnight took a sudden interest in and started playing with my hair.
"Anna?"
I looked up and saw Belle in the doorway with a smile. I waved and put away my homework as I slowly stood up.
"What's up Belle?" I asked softly meeting her in the doorway.
"The boys and I wanted to know if you would like to accompany us to the Black Lake?" She responded with excitement. I nodded and we walked down the stone staircase towards the common room. Scorpius saw us first and bounded up to me with joy.
"Anna your coming with us!" He almost shouted with excitement making me roll my eyes and the three of us followed Albus out the common room and towards the Black Lake. Belle jumped on Albus's back with a small laugh as he almost tumbled down to the ground.
"Go forth noble stead and we shall vanquish all that stand in our way!" Belle annouced and pointed out towards the fountain that was in the courtyard. I laughed loudly and held my stomach as Albus sighed and began to run ahead of us with Belle on his back.
"I bet we could beat them!" I heard Scorpius challenge and I smirked with raised eyebrows.
"Let me get on your back then!" I exclaimed as he bent down slightly and I jumped on his back as he placed his hands on my thighs and I held onto his shoulders.
"Forward noble stead!" I shouted as Scorpius fake nieghed and ran towards Belle and Albus. Belle turned around and screamed lightly and soon it was a race to the Black Lake. I leaned forward halfway through the race and Scorpius fell and together we tumbled down the hill also making Belle and Albus fall and tumble after us. My head felt slightly dizzy but I laughed as flower blossoms fell around me, the sky was a baby blue and the Earth felt alive once more.
"That was...amazingly fun!" Scorpius exclaimed with a laugh as he sat up and looked at me and my smiling face. I nodded and followed suit and looked at Belle, who stood up and made her way over to me to help me up.
"Yep! Much better than doing homework." I said and walked besides her as we walked down to the shore of the lake. Belle laughed and sat down on the shore as the boys raced over to us and nearly fell in the water.
"Belle and I won!" Albus exclaimed to Scorpius as he rolled his eyes. Scorp smirked and put his arm around me.
"Anna and I totally won! You two were like...light-years away from us." He stated making me smirk and move away from his arm.
"If it was boys against girls, Belle and I would've totally kicked your butt!" I exclaimed with crossed arms and Belle put her elbow on my shoulder. Al and Scorp looked at us with fake betrayal making me laugh slightly.
"Now that hurts-" Al stated putting a hand on his chest. Both boys looked at each other with a sly grin and charged at Belle and I. Belle ran while I stood there in shock, which was a pretty dumb move on my behalf. Scorpius picked me up and threw me over his shoulder while Albus was chasing Belle around a tree trying to get her.
"Let me go!" I laughed as Scorp took me on the deck and threw me towards the dark water. With a quick close of my eyes, my body was surrounded in cold, dark water. Bubbles erupted from my mouth and slowly went to the surface and my hair floated around me as I took in my surroundings. A few fish went by me unbothered by my presence as if they were use to this kind of thing. Something was thrown into the lake beside me and bubbles surrounded the figure and soon revealed a very shocked looking Belle. Her blonde hair was flying around her and her cheeks were slightly puffed out to hold in air, bubbles were slowly rising around her. I gave her a small nod and together we switch to the surface and I took in a gulf of oxygen into my lungs as I glared at the laughing boys staring down at us from the deck. As if we could read each other's mind, Belle and I pushed ourselves up out of the water and grabbed the boy's hands and pulled them down the the water below. They both screamed as the fell into the water as Belle and I smirked at each other and laughed. Scorpius reached the surface first and dunked me back under water as revenge. I pulled down on his leg and he joined me in the dark water, his platnium blonde hair was no longer sleeked back and was floating slightly from his scalp. His grey eyes seemed darker but yet calming to look into. I shook my head spightly and swam to the surface besides Belle and heard he and Albus laughing loudly.
"Well...we should head back up to the school. We're all soaking wet and I don't plan to go to my classes like this." I stated as I walked swam to the shore and started take handfuls of my robes and twisting them to get the water out. I heard my friends groan in response and slowly came out if the water and walked with me up to the castle. We were in the hallway walking with water trailing behind us and yet we laughed and talked frequently. I looked up and my smile faded into a frown when I saw Chapman and her two 'bodyguards' walking towards us with smirks.
"Uh oh!" Belle exclaimed softly and we all stopped as Chapman stood in front of us with that smirk of hers that I really wanted to slap off.
"Well look who it is! It's Black and her loser of a group. Come back from taking a shower I see, trailing water throughout the castle like idiots." She laughed, and not the happy kind of laugh.
"At least we're not complete morons like you Chapman." I heard Scorpius retort to her. I felt my hands balling into fists as Chapman looked at Scorpius and I saw my friend staring back in anger.
"Morons? You need to learn to respect your superiors Malfoy." She stated and Belle moved towards Chapman.
"Superiors? Ha! I hope you don't mean yourselves." Belle stated with a frown while Chapman looked at her with disgust.
"No one for your opinion...you filthy little blood traitor-"
"That's it!" I yelled and charged at Chapman before anyone could respond. We fell to the ground with me on top as I threw punches at her face. With one of my punches I heard a crack and blood poured out of her nose as she threw me off her and stood up. A crowd of students now surrounded us and started chanted the word fight. I snarled and charged back at her. She pulled my hair defensively but I got out of her grasp and punched her in the face as she clawed at my arm. I grab a fistful of her hair and knocked her to the ground. She managed to throw a few punches at me which resulted in a few deep cuts from the rings on her fingers.
"STOP! Stop this immediately!" I heard one of the teachers shout and make their way over to us. Someone grabbed me from behind and I struggled in their arms trying to get back at Chapman.
"Let me go! Let me at her!" I shouted as I was pulled away from Chapman. She was being held back by Professor McGonagall and I only assumed I was being held back by Professor Slughorn. I snarled at the bleeding girl and she flinched back in fear and held into the sleeve of the headmistress.
"THAT IS ENOUGH!" I looked up at Headmistress McGonagall who yelled and I stopped struggling. Madam Promfey came through the crowd and went to Chapman's side and took hold of her while Headmistress McGonagall looked at us both with a disappointed glare.
"Fighting is not acceptable! Both of you should be ashamed of yourselves. Madam Promfey please take Miss Chapman to the Hospital Wing. Miss Black you will come with me at once. Everyone get back to your classes!" The crowd dispersed slowly with frowns and went back to their classes while Belle, Albus, and Scorpius stood there looking at me.
"You three get to your common room. Miss Black will see you at dinner." McGonagall instructed as she lead me away from my friends and towards her office. The golden gargoyle moved as she said the password and we went up the stairs and into her office. I walked to the front of her desk as she sat down and looked at me with disappointment.
"Explain to me, Miss Black, why two of my best students were fighting in the halls of my school?" She asked. Her lips were in a thin line and her eyes were darker in anger. I sighed and looked down.
"I was only protecting Belle. Chapman called her-" I stopped mid-sentence and sighed.
"Called her what? Miss Black?" McGonagall asked with her hands folded together.
"She called Belle a filthy little blood traitor." I finished as anger began to rise in me again.
"That is unfortunate to hear. Miss Garcia is a very bright student and she is worth more than she believes. Your beliefs are righteous in the act but your angered actions are what caused a fight that could have been avoided." She scoulded as I lowered my head in shame.
"Because of your actions 50 points will be taken from your house." She stated making me look up with understanding. I did wrong and I needed to go with my punishment.
"Miss Chapman will also lose 50 points and you both will serve detention with me for the next month!" She stated and I nodded.
"Now off you go. I don't want to see anymore fights with you involved. You are a bright student, it would be a shame to see you expelled for something so silly." She informed and I quickly got out of her office and made my way towards the Great Hall.

"50 points!" Belle exclaimed loudly making me nod in response as I slowly ate my dinner, which consisted of butter beans, mashed potatoes, and steak.
"Bloody hell!" Al stated as he hit his head on the table making Belle roll her eyes and hit him. "Ow! What was that for?" He glared.
"Oh nothing...I just felt like it." Belle responded with a shrug of her shoulders. I looked to me right and saw Chapman holding a rag to her nose and a bandage on her arm. I sighed lightly and returned to slowly eating my food, Scorpius touched my arm and gave me a small smile.
"Don't beat yourself up Anna! We could always earn more points. It's not the end of the world!" He stated and my friends all smiled at me, which of course, made me smile brightly at them.
"Come on let's go back to the common room." Albus said and we all removed ourselves from the table and walked out of the Great Hall. Belle linked arms with me comfortly and smiled. Albus stood in front of a wall and spoke the password
"Salazar."
The wall revealed a hidden door and opened, allowing us to pass through and to our common room. Scorpius ran and jumped on the leather black arm chair and smiled brightly.
"Finally. Oh how I've missed you beloved arm chair!" He exclaimed making me roll my eyes.
"You were just in here like 45 minutes ago Scorp!" Belle stated in disbelief as she sat on the sofa and I followed suit. I looked up and saw Midnight and Thalia running down the stairs and jumped on the sofa, Midnight on my lap and Thalia purring loudly on Belle's lap. Midnight looked up at me with her blue eyes and put her tiny front paws on my chest and meowed lightly.
"What? You want a treat? Does my sweet gril want a treat?" I asked in a slight motherly tone. Midnight meowed in response and turned around once and meowed again making me laugh slightly.
"I'm taking that as a yes." I said as I pulled out a fish stick from my robe pocket and gave it to her, her tongue felt rough against my palm and it tickled. She finished quickly and I iled while petting her back lightly.
Belle and Albus were playing Wizards Chess and Scorpius was finishing some potions homework. I decided to pull out a book that I had not yet finished called Memoirs of a Geisha.
Midnight fell asleep in my lap and was snoring lightly as I relaxed in my seat and turned to the last page I was on.
