"I believe we need to talk to you about the Mirror of Erised!" I said as his eyes widened in shock.
"Of course. Come on into my office girls, this does not need to be said in the open!"
We looked at each other and walked into his office with linked arms.
This is it...I'm officially dead.
-----------------------------------------------------------Professor led us to his office desk and beckoned us to sit down. With one look at the other, we sat sat slowly on the chairs. He looked at the both of us and cleared his throat with clasped hands.
"Now, girls, tell me what you were doing anywhere near the Mirror of Erised?" Professor Slughorn asked with a stern voice making me want to sink into the shadows and stay there.
"We found a room with a trap door that led to the several other rooms professor." Belle explained lightly as he turned his attention to her.
"What do you mean several rooms?"
"There was a room of flying keys, and a thing of Wizards Chess and then the room with the mirror." I answered softly so Belle wouldn't have to answer. The professor looked bewildered at us with his wide opened eyes.
"My dears, those rooms were the exact same ones that Mr. Harry Potter and his friends went through to stop Voldemort from getting a stone called the Philosophers Stone, which could have return him to his normal state. He was stopped of course and the stone was destroyed, but the mirror was suppose to be moved long ago by Dumbledore himself. It looks as though the task was not fulfilled." He explained in with furrowed brows. Belle and I looked at each other with mouths open in shock at the information we received. I put my hands in my pockets and let my finger feel around the necklace I found back in the room with the mirror. Professor turned his attention back to us with a slight frown.
"Was there anyone who was with you in this... adventure of yours?" He asked us and Belle stared at him with a frown.
"No professor, it was just us!" She lied.
He stared at her with disbelief but nodded.
"Very well, but before you go is there anything else you wish to tell me. Anything that happened thst was strange or mysterious?" He asked making me clutch tightly onto the necklace and freeze on spot. He turned his attention to me when Belle shook her head and his eyes seemed to see right through me.
"No professor. What we told you was all that we saw strange." I lied. He looked at me with furrowed brows before turning his gaze away from in and sighed heavily.
"Very well, off you go, straight to bed. I don't want anymore late night surprises from you two girls again. Understand?" He asked and we nodded in unison, "Good..now goodnight to you girls and don't be late to your classes because of this event!" He demanded as we left the room in a quick way and jogged towards our common room.
"Basilisk." I said softly as the wall opened up and we ran into the common room.
"The other two will be glad that they aren't getting in trouble for this!" Belld exclaimed as we entered our dorm. I nodded and let myself fall onto my bed with a loud sigh of relief.
Belle was already dead asleep and I slowly took out the necklace and stared at it before I put it in my nightstand drawer and immediatly felt my eyelids close slowly and I was engulfed with the darkness of sleep.~*~
The weekend came by quicker than I thought and soon Belle and I were walking down the hall towards the Great Hall for breakfast with my eyes drooping slightly from my lack of sleep. We spent the past few days trying to find out about the Philosophers Stone after I showed Belle the necklace I found. After hours we found nothing and we were lacking sleep that we should have been catching up on.
"I'm so freaking sleepy!" I exclaimed loudly as Belle nodded in silent agreement.
"That I could definitely agree on." A voice sounded from behind us and we turned to see Alice and Jessica in the same state as us.
"Did you guys get caught the might we were out while you were going to your common rooms?" Belle asked the two sleepy girls. They both nodded and smiled lightly.
"Professor Trelawny found us near the Ravenclaw common room." Jessica informed as they gave each other a look with a smile.
"She just told us not to do it again! But she kinda freaked out when we told her about the mirror we found." Alice said with a confused look as Belle and I shared a knowing look. She nodded and I sighed lightly before pulling the two confused looking girls into a separate hall and started walking further and further away from the Great Hall.
"Wait a minute why are we going away from the Great Hall? I'm absolute famished!" Alice exclaimed with furrowed brows. We stopped in front of a mirror looking portrait and I looked around for any students or teachers lingering in the hall before I turned my wand and put it against the middle of the reflections chest. The mirror rippled like when a stone was thrown in water and showed a wooden door that opened. I quickly pulled them into the room and the door closed behind us swiftly. It was very bright from the windows as the green curtain were pulled back neatly and dust was gathered in every corner of the room. A fireplace was in the right corner of the room unlit and unused, near the fireplace was a single black sofa and two black armchairs. A coffee table with a glass surface was in the center of the furniture and dusty old books was placed neatly in a small pile, the ground was a polished wooden flooring with dust on it to making it a dull color. A bookcase was further away from the furniture and a small study table was near it with old quills and ink bottles that we're definitely out of date. Cleaning supplies were piled in the corner and left to dust.
"What is this place?" Jessica asked with a curious voice.
"My brother found this room in his first year and recommended it to me since I needed somewhere to go when I needed to be alone or like...to study or whatever." I informed as we gathered in a large circle.
"Well anyways, why did you take me away from breakfast?" Alice asked with crossed arms and a small frown. Jessie sat down on the arm of the sofa and looked at me with raised brows.
"Well...you said Trelawny freaked out about the mirror, correct?" I started as Alice and Jessica nodded slightly.
"Yes but what does that have to do with you pulling us into an abandoned room that nobody knows about?" Jessie asked.
"I'm getting there. Anyways Professor Slughorn acted the same way, he looked bewildered and shocked that the mirror was still there. And he told us that was where Voldemort first tried to come back to his normal state when he tried to get the Philosophers Stone, but Harry Potter beat him to it and destroyed the stone!" I informed as their eyes swirled with thought and their brows furrowed.
"So the stone was destroyed but yet the mirror is...still there?" Alice asked trying to decipher the information. I nodded and pulled out the golden necklace with the rounded shaped stone.
"Yes. The stone was destroyed and Voldemort lost. Albus Dumbledore destroyed the stone, but that night I found a necklace that looks exactly like the stone but polished and cut to look like a regular stone on the ground hidden behind a pillar-" I said as I held out the necklace in my palm and they gazed at it with wonder, "so what if Dumbledore never really destroyed the stone?"
Jessica picked it up from my palm and stared at the necklace's stone with a small confused look.
"Then how did a small piece of the actual stone end up on a necklace and hidden behind the pillar?" Belle asked as she looked up at me with a frown.
"More importantly, why would Dumbledore lie about destroying the stone?" Alice added in question. I shook my head at their questions and kept my gaze on the necklace.
"I don't know, but no good can come out of this if someone knows that the stone wasn't really destroyed." I answered softly and they nodded in agreement.
"We need to hide it or something!" Jessica finally said looking up at the three of us.
I nodded at her and went to the bookcase and grabbed a small silver box with several tiny emeralds decorating the lid along with thin silver leaf designs that surrounded the entire box.
"Here, I hope this works!" I exclaimed and gave her the box. She smiled brightly and opened the box and place the necklace neatly in it and closed it softly.
"Well, we could leave it on the shelf since no body knows about this place." I suggested making them all nod in agreement. Jessie placed the box back on the shelf and looked at us.
"Do you think we could clean this place up a bit?" She asked lightly as she grabbed a broom from the corner making us all smile at her.
"Sure. I mean this could be the perfect place to hang out or study!" Alice exclaimed with a happy smile as she grabbed a duster and a small rag. I grabbed another broom while Belle picked up a spray bottle and a rag.
We ended up spending most of our afternoon cleaning up the spacious room and finally finished after about 1pm.
"Wow it looks way more cleaner!" I exclaimed as I stood back and looked at our hard work. The girls nodded in agreement and we all fell back onto furniture, Jessica and I in the sofa while Belle and Alice were on the armchairs.
"Yep. I could literally sleep right now." Alice stated and stretched her arms up towards the ceiling.
Belle looked at her watch and sighed heavily before standing up.
"We should probably get down to the Great Hall for lunch. The boys will be looking for us since we didn't go down there for breakfast." She stated making me nod and stand up and walk towards the door. Jessica and Alice were right behind us talking about doing some homework or whatever. The door opened and we stepped through the opening and walked down the stone stairs that led right towards the Great Hall. Jessie and Alice left towards their own tables and bid us a small goodbye. I looked over at the Slytherin table and saw Al and Scorp talking about something. Albus was the first to notice us walking towards them and waved over at us.
"Where have you been all morning?" He asked with a bright smile as Belle and I sat down. I grabbed a grilled ham and cheese sandwich with tomato soup and felt immediate warm spread through my mouth.
"We were...at Hagrid's place, visiting since our friends dad knew him when he was younger." Belle lied quickly to the curious boys, lucky for us she was an excellent lier and the boys believed her story.
"Well okay. Next time tell us so we don't worry all morning about you!" Scorpius stated with furrowed brows. I leaned against my palm and smirk at him.
"Awww! You were worried about us!" I mocked in a playfully manner. His cheeks reddened and he glared at me after he bit into his sandwich.
"I wasn't that worried. Don't get your hopes up." He lied making me chuckle darkly and pinch his cheeks.
"Don't lie to yourself Scorp!" I exclaimed as he swatted at me hand and put his face into his hands with a small groan of annoyance. Belle laughed at him and leaned over to pay his head softly. Albus just smirked and continued eating the rest of his lunch.
"So what were you guys talking about before you noticed us?" I asked with curiousity. Al looked at me with raised eyebrows and leaned forward slightly.
"Never heard of that saying curiousity killed the cat!" He mocked and I glared at him as I remembered clearly that was exactly what Jessica said a few nights ago when he activated a plant's defense system and covered us all in green slime.
"Well I was just asking so therefore you need to answer the question!" I stated making him smile at my answer.
"Well if you must so dearly need to know, Scorp and I were planning on pranking the glorious Professor Slughorn later tonight. Your more than glad to accompany us, that is, if your up for the task!" He said with a smirk making me smirk evilly at him.
"Oh I'm definitely up for the task. Only if you are though!" I retorted back making him wave his hand at my question with a huff.
"Pft! I'm definitely up for the task. I'm the one who planned it." He informed with a proud smile. Belle rolled her eyes and turned to him.
"Okay then let's hear your amazing plan!" She exclaimed while waving her wrist with a spoon in her hand.
"Okay we're going to spray paint all of his walls and then put some vomit flavored beans mixed with the butter ones in a bowl and then-" he started before Belle and I stopped him.
"Woah! That...is your plan?" Belle asked with a bewildered look.
"That is by far the worse prank plan I've ever heard. George and Fred would have come up with something way better. We need to out prank the old prankster's pranks!" I exclaimed with determination. I took out a piece of parchment from my black leather satchel and a quill pen.
"Here is my plan. One of us will distract the professor and get him away from his office long enough for the other three to get in and out unnoticed and without getting caught-" I started as we leaned in closer, "one person, who is very good at charms, will use a charm that will allow all his furniture to float upwards to the ceiling. Another will make a potion that makes the drinker's facial hair to grow a major length. Once the professor drinks the potion, another with open the door and put a rolling cart in front of the door and pour a slippery liquid on the ground. Once that is done someone will give him a little 'push' and he will slid on over to the cart-" I began to end but Scorp beat me to it.
"And then our amazing volunteer will fall into the cart and roll on down the stairs!" He ended with a smile.
"Exactly!" I stated and looked at them.
"All in favor of Annalise's plan-" Belle said as she raised her hand slightly. Scorpius raised his hand and then Albus slowly raised his.
"Well lets get started!"~*~
It was nighttime and the we had all the needed supplies for the prank to work perfectly. We got Alice to help us out since Jessica was nowhere to be found. Belle, Albus and I hid behind a statue in the corner as we watched Alice knock furiously on Professor Slughorn's office door. The door swung open and revealed at very tired looking professor.
"My dear, why in Merlin's name are you knocking on my door at this hour of night?" He asked with a stern look of annoyance.
"Professor a student is tangled up in some ropes in the girls bathroom near the astronomy tower. I didn't know what to do, but sir please hurry!" Alice exclaimed with a pleading voice as she faked tears and they streamed down her face making him sigh in defeat.
"Oh alright, come along and show me." He said and tried to close his door but Alice dragged him away.
"There is no time professor, hurry!" She stated and they briskly walked away from the dungeons with Alice dragging him by the arm. She looked back and shot us a wink and smile before they turned the corner and left.
"Come one let's go!" I whispered and we jogged to the open door and closed it behind us and Belle went to sit at the small table and set her watch.
"We have about an hour, Scorp put some sort of glue on the ropes to make it hard for them to come off." She informed as she got out a cauldron and some ingredients and began working with a focused look. Albus was helping Belle since he wasn't the greatest at charms. It didn't take long for everything to be done, the potion was set and ready. Suddenly a very annoyed voice spoke and was nearing the office, we quickly hid in different places and waited quietly as Professor Slughorn entered his office with a tired look. I was in the large closet with the door cracked opened. I watched with a sly smirk as the professor neared his desk and leaned against it with a sigh. With a small whisper and wave of my hand, all his furniture lifted into the air just as he took a sip of the potion in his goblet. He stared wide-eyed at his now floating furniture and yelped in surprise as his hair grew and covered his entire body, and he literally looked like cousin it from one of my favorite movies called The Adams Family.
"What in Merlin's name is going on?" He yelled making Belle laugh softly.
Albus jumped into action and poured out some green liquid and a wide grin was plastered on his face as his blue eyes looked up at me. I exited the closet and ran over to the rolling cart and placed it in the doorway as the bewildered professor began to 'dance' on the slippery liquid and towards the door. With a yell, he fell into the cart and Belle pushed it slightly as it began rolling away and down the stairs.
"Oof..oof...oof-" I heard the professor say continuously as he rolled down the stairs. The cart stopped and I heard a small groan from the scared professor as his arms hung limply from the edges of the cart. With a single glance at each other, the three of us rushed to the girls bathroom where Scorpius and Alice were waiting for us. I threw open the doors and immediatly saw Alice near the sinks with a smile as Scorpius was hanging upside down by one leg. He looked at me and smiled brightly as I rolled my eyes at the sight.
"Geez Scorp, how did you manage to get yourself stuck like this?" I asked as I looked for a way to get him unstuck from the sticky web of ropes.
"Talent!" He stated with a smile as I smirked down at him as I untied his shoe and he fell to the ground with a loud thud.
"Ow!"
I walked away and gave Alice a fake pass so that she could get back to her common room without getting in trouble. She smiled at me and left without a single word as she skipped past us.
I looked at my three friends and noticed that each of them had a mischievous glint in their eyes as I put a hand on my hip.
"Come on." I said as we walked past a sleeping Professor Slughorn in the cart and back to the common room unnoticed and satisfied with the successful prank that took place.
