Chapter 3: The Scarlet Train

3rd POV

It was very hectic on the morning of September 1 for Annalise's family. Everyone was struggling to get their things packed and ready to go. That is except for Annalise, who was sitting in the arm chair in her room reading a muggle book called Alice in Wonderland and it was by far the best book she has read since she able to read at the age of three. She glanced up every once in a while and smiled to herself, hearing her family rushing around.

Annalise's POV

I was sitting in my white arm chair with my favorite book the whole wide world with Midnight sleeping in my lap, peacefully. My trunk was placed on my bed with a small very light pink backpack on top. I smiled and continued to read, I had everything packed and ready to go for about a month or so. I wanted to look presentable today when I arrived at Kings Cross Station so I wearing a peach-white dress with short loose sleeves with some white flats and a gold necklace that had an infinity sign with a heart behind it. I also had some mascara on making my grey-blue eyes bigger than normally and clear lip gloss on that tasted of strawberries.
"Anna! Come downstairs, we're all ready to go." My brother, Lupin, said coming into my room. He looked at my packed trunk and then at me sitting down with a look of are you serious?
"How long have you been ready?" He asked and I laughed lightly before rolling my eyes at him.
"About a month or so!" I said in a gentle tone. I stood up with Midnight in my arms, putting my book in my backpack and putting in ony back. Lupin sighed and took my trunk downstairs where I followed closely behind towards our family. Lupin gave my trunk to some taxi ministry worker who was driving us to the station. Midnight was looking at me with those beautiful blue eyes that were memorizing to anyone who looked at her and I smiled touching noses with her gently. Mother was straightening father's tie before looking at me with a smile. She was wearing a short white dress that hugged at her sides whereas father had a grey suit on. They were to go to an official ministry conference after taking us to the station, as always Lara and Luke were staying with the house elves. I gave Midnight to the ministry worker and smiled as he looked deadly terrified of her. I bent down to my younger siblings height and pulled them both in for a hug and I smiled at the embrace. We broke apart and Lara gave me a small frown.
"Promise you'll write!" She said making me smile. I nodded and stood up before leaving with the others towards a small black limo. I heard some hissing and a small yell as I climbed into the back seat beside Lupin, we looked up just in time to see the worker at the door with scratch marks on his face and small tears on his black suit. I covered a laugh as he shut our door and sat in the driver seat. Lupin looked at me bewildered and his mouth open.
"Did Midnight do that?" He asked in a whispered and I nodded still laughing. He shook his head and sighed.
"Bloody hell. Remind me to never get on that cat's bad side." He said as mother and father sat across from Beth, Melissa, Lupin and I. It took about thirty minutes to get to the station and I hopped out first and got Midnight as the worker began to take our things and put them on some metal trolleys. I placed Midnight on top of my trunk and watched as she hissed and growled at the worker, he jumped back in terror and ran to the car and drove away.

We made our way between platforms 9 and 10 and I watched as Melissa and Lupin ran towards the brick pillar and disappeared through the wall. I blinked my eyes at the pillar and gulped, I felt a firm hand on my shoulder and looked up to see father smiling down at me.
"Together?" He asked and I smiled nervously.
"Together!" I said before we looked at the wall and began to run towards it. Closer and closer and closer, I shut my eyes closed expecting to crash but it didn't come. Instead I heard a train whistle and chattering families, I opened my eyes and stared as some stream fell away from the front of a scarlet train that said Hogwarts Express on the front of it. I smiled just as mother and Beth come through the dark shadows of the wall and we made our way towards a spot near the train entrance. I looked up at my parents and hugged them both tightly.
"I'm going to miss you." I muffled into my father's suit. He hugged me tighter and kissed my head.
"I'm so proud of you sweetheart. Do you best in school and don't forget to have fun." I smiled at looked to my mother who had a sour look on her face as she stared somewhere else. I turned around and saw a family of four; a male with three women, two with red hair and two had blonde hair. A tall women with fair skin and blonde hair looked at my mother and made her way to us with a smirk on her lips.
"Jenna dear! Have long has it been?" The women asked in a sneering light French voice making me frown.
"Long enough to where I forgot your annoying voice Fleur." Mother spat through clenched teeth. Fleur gave mother a disgusted look before looking at my father with fake dreamy eyes.
"Henry. How lovely to see you!" She said in an annoying voice. He put an arm around my mother and I with a small smile.
"Yes. Indeed! How is Bill?" He asked in an uninterested voice.
"He is doing well! Though I can't understand why you are still with dis women-" she stated, making my blood boil and I stood up to her with anger in my eyes.
"It's because he loves her. Now I suggest you leave and return to your family." I said polietly with anger edging in my voice. She turned her attention to me and I saw a flash of surprise and anger in her eyes before she laughed fakely turning to my father.
"Quite the little one you have here Henry darling." She said lightly looking at me with an obvious fake smile. Father smiled proudly and pulled me back to him and mother.
"Indeed. Gets it from her mother, I do suggest to go back to Bill before he starts to wonder where his lovely wife is." He said not asking but ordering. She gave a glare to my mother and I before leaving to her family. Mother sighed heavily and turned to me.
"Make sure you beat her daughter in every subject." She said to me looking at a redhaired girl ,who her mother was speaking to her. We made eye contact and frowned. I smirked at her before nodding to mother. Father shook his head and I gave them once last hug before getting on the train and heading down the hallway with Midnight's cage in my hand, some train guys took my trunk and put them elsewhere. Out of nowhere a ginger hair girl stormed out of a compartment with a small scream.
"Stupid, idiotic cousin!" She said before storming off to another compartment. I looked into the open compartment and saw two boys sitting in silence. One was the Potter boy with combed hair from Diagon Alley and the other had platnium blonde hair and blue eyes, he looked at me and a smile appeared in his face while the other just looked at me.
"Hello I'm Scorpius Malfoy." He introduced himself immediatly making me smile.
"Hello, um, can I sit here?Everywhere else is full." I asked nicely. Scorpius nodded, maybe a bit too much, and I sat down eagerly with a smile. I pulled Midnight out of her cage and put it under the seat. She jumped on my lap and curled up and began to look around at the boys.
"Sorry. I hope you don't mind, she doesn't like being in her cage for very long!" I explained with a nervous look at the two boys. Scorpius shook his head told me it wasn't a big deal. He sat next to me and smiled looking at Midnight.
"What's her name?" He asked as she jumped out of my lap onto his and sniffed his hand. She looked at him and meowed softly before laying down.
"Midnight!" I said watching as he pet her gently on her sleek black coat, making sure to be gentle with her and I was turned to the silent boy sitting across from me.
"I never got your name." I said to him and he smirked.
"That because I never told you." I widened my eyes and looked to the ground. I muttered a small sorry as he laughed lightly. I looked up at him and he shrugged it off before sticking out his hand.
"It's Albus...Albus Potter!" He said and I took his hand with a smile.
"Charmed." I smiling and laughed. Suddenly the door opened and revealed a strawberry blonde girl with a smile as her blue eyes landed on me and I stood up giving my friend a tight hug.
"Belle. How did you find me?" I asked as she sat down beside Albus. She smirked at me and rolled her eyes.
"I followed your laugh." She said. I turned to the confused looking boys.
"Sorry. Guys this is Belka or Belle for short. Belle this is Scorpius Malfoy and Albus Potter. I met Belle in Diagon Alley a month ago and we became friends right afterwards." I explained to the boys making their mouths make an O.
A small plump women with a trolley full of amazing looking sweets appeared in the door of our compartment with a smile.
"Anything from the trolley dears?" She asked in a sweet voice. Belle held up a small brown bag with a small disappointed smile.
"I'm all set!" She said before putting the sagging bag into her bag. Being the nice person I am, I pulled out a handful of coins from my bag and went up to the trolley.
"We'll take the lot ma'am!" I exclaimed earning open mouths from my new friends. In my head, I only planned to take a few sweets for us. But we all knew that was a total and utter lie

In the end we ended up with a bunch of sweets on the seats between us. Delicious and amazing sweets such as; cauldron cakes, licorice wands, sugar quills, Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans, pumpkin pastilles, and chocolate frogs.
Albus and Scorpius were in the middle of Exploding Snap, which was a wizard card game. I was nibbling on a Cauldron Cake with Midnight in my lap watching the two boys play with curiousity, Belle finished the last of her licorice wand when suddenly, Albus's card Exploded with a loud snap causing Scorpius to laugh and fall on the ground while holding his stomach. I smiled and traded an Albus Dumbledore trading card for a Hermione Granger, which Belle had. She looked at her watch and stood up and looked at me.
"I'm going to go changed into my robes and uniform, wanna tag along?" I nodded and followed her out of the compartment and down the hall. It didn't take long for me to change into my uniform and robes and we slowly made our way back to our compartment. Suddenly a force shoved into my back and I tumbled to the ground pulling Belle down with me. We heard laughter from above us and I looked up with a frown. It was the girl from the station and another girl with long blonde hair and grey eyes.
"Oops sorry. I didn't see you!" The girl from the station responded with a smirk. I stood up and got close to her and pushed her down.
"Sorry. Didn't see the trash in front of me!" I quickly remarked and turned away from them with Belle beside me and we walked into our compartment. Al and Scorp were already in their uniforms and smiling brightly at us. Midnight was being petted by Scorpius and purring loudly at his touch.
I smiled and took her from Scorpius and put her in my lap as she looked at me with a small meow and fell asleep. Scorp looked at me and put a hand to his heart with fake hurt.
"Betrayal hurts!" He replied and I just shrugged my shoulders with a smile. We talked about our families and what our feelings were on certain topics. And from there formed a wonderful friendship.
