Hangman is coming down from the gallows, and I don't have very long..."

The damn guards put me in Isolation. Isalation was a tiny room on the far edge of the prison. It had bare white walls, no cot, no toilet, not even a window for fresh air. Only a small hole in the floor for when I needed to use the restroom. This was my punishment for acting up.

There was no reasoning when it came to prison guards. I tried to tell them that she started it. That I was merely defending myself. I tried to tell them that she was looking for a fight. They just sneered and locked the door.

Assholes.

I think I've  been in here for 5 days. I stink. They don't let you use the showers when your in Isolation. I mean, Isolation is a very useful punishment if you think about it. Werewolves are naturally very social creatures, being cut off from the outside world for long periods of time was bound to make a lasting impression.

It was a lot warmer here than it was in my cell. Maybe lack of fresh air did it...It was also quite stuffy. You were meant to think a lot while you were in here. It was kind of like a grown up version of 'Sit down and think about what you've done' time out corner.

As I lay on the floor... I think of my future. Staying in that tiny cell for the rest of my life... doing absolutely nothing. Eating the same food, seeing the same ceiling, being handcuffed to the same table. It made me want to die. I try not to think. If I do... My mind goes to bad places. Like my family or my future.

My thoughts suddenly take a different path. A more hopeful and whimsical path...

What if I found my mate? I know the odds of me actually seeing him are about a thousand to one. If I hadn't seen him in the last four years being here... I doubted that I would be seeing him now. But still, I hoped.

I imagined what he would look like. Would he be a brunette? Or maybe blond? What color would his eyes be? Blue or Brown? Maybe even green? Would he be an Alpha...? I doubted it. I wouldn't care if he was an Omega or a Rouge like me. I'd love him... as long as he got me out of here.

My wishful thoughts were rudely interrupted by the opening of the door. The large metal door swung open to reveal a short pudgy man  flanked by two large guards. I hadn't seen any of these people before. These guards wernt my regulars. The two guards were holding their tasers and a silver baton.

This was bad.... very, very bad. Guards only pulled out their batons when they would drag inmates to....

"Paige Carter." The short man called my name. My eyes snapped to his. No doubt filled with fear.

"Yes..." I answered shakily.

"You are to be taken to the Questioning Room for testing." I could feel my eyes growing large. I began to plead.

"Please don't. I won't do it again I promise. I didn't mean it. Please I'll do anything. Don't send me there. P-please." None of them listened. They proceeded to grab me by my forearm and made me walk forward.

I went limp. They were going to have to drag me to my own death. I tried to kick at them. I tried to bite. I screamed as loud as I could. Yet... I couldn't stop my own life from flashing before my eyes. I saw myself and my mate, happy. I was holding a little baby. We lived in a small home, surrounded by a picket fence. We were okay. We were happy.

Now I was going to die.

In that very second... the miracle happened.

My arm had slipped from the guards grasp. I gasped and took my chance. I used my now free arm and elbowed the faulty prison guard. It was a swift jab, right to the nose. He staggered away holding onto his face dearly. The other guard still had my arm and was reaching for his baton. The baton was made of silver, a sharp blow might kill me.

With a split second window, I jumped up and kicked the guard right in the balls. He stopped and dropped to the ground, like males do when kicked in the family jewels. With no time to waste, I made a run for it.

The guard that I elbowed was now talking quickly into a radio in his hand. I noticed that his nose was bleeding. It ran down his face, into his mouth before being spit back out again while he was talking.

"The Rouge is loose. Initiate lockdown." He spat into his walkie talkie. Almost immediately an alarm sounded around me. I was now sprinting. To what... I didnt know.

Think Paige, think. Where is an exit?

I was now at the end of the long hallway, pausing at a corner. I peered back slightly. The guard was now in full pursuit of me. Shit. I had to keep running.  I started booking it down this hallway, at the very end was elevator.... encrypt with a thumbprint ID. I couldn't get in.

An idea formed in my head just as the guard was inches away.

I began to run faster towards the elevators. The guard hot on my heels. Just as I was about to hit the rusty metal doors, I launched myself to the left. Barely missing a cracked head.

But the guard didn't.

His forehead smashed into the titanium doors and I heard a dull crack of something no doubt being broken. Before he could get up, I swiped his taser from out of his hands and gave him one long volt of electricity to the jugular.  His eyes comicly rolled and he passed out. The thundering footsteps of other guards reminded me that I didn't have much time.

I grabbed the guards right hand, and pressed his thumb onto the keypad. My heart pounded in my chest. The footsteps were getting louder. It seemed like they were just about to round the corner. Adrenaline had my muscles tensing and mind sharp. I looked back at the keypad as it made a slight beep.

The elevator doors were now open.
