"I decided to play when I knew you were fire.

It started off warm but, now I hear the choir."

Melody and I had history.

I had met her on a trip to the SunDown pack. We were there on a mandatory routine checkup of all the packs on the continent. Meet with the Alpha and Luna, ask about any Rouge disturbances, they give the general status of there packs wellbeing, etcetera.

It had been the exact same routine as with all the other packs except for one thing. Just on the borders of there land was a rumor of a covenant. There was a small bit of land (about a mile) of space between the end of the SunDown pack and the GreySky pack.

"In there," the Alpha said, "are where the witches hide."

This would cause immediate concern amongst the people and the throne. Many despised the witches just as much as they despised the Rouges.

At the time, I was only 19. Father had recently fallen ill and my rivalry for the crown with my brother had just begun. Inthought that destroying an entire covenant might give ne a keading edge against my brother. So I started out. I was stubborn, headstrong, and proud. I took it upon myself to capture and slay the covenant that week.

It was a rather stupid plan, to be honest. I was going to earn the trust of one of the witches, gain information, then send the knights out to attack. I severely underestimated the strength of a full-blood witch. We would have wiped them out years ago if they were weak.

Heads up, I got my ass handed to me.

The plan was successful until stage 3 was supposed to set in. I had seduced a beautiful young witch named Melody. Melody was mentally weak. Her entire nature came across as submissive and meek. She was the perfect target.

I had found Melody outside of a bar, have drunk and stumbling. It was almkst easy to get her to sleep with me (dont tell Paige that). I told her who I was, told her how pretty she was, and like that she fell for it. She was putty in my hands for days afterwards.

We spent more and more time together.  She thought were going on dates, having fun, being an average couple.  I actuality, I was questioning her. Digging for secrets. I had found out that there were over 200 members in this covenant, all well trained and experienced witches. Each and every witch was at least a level 4 (1-5 scale on how powerful a witch was) and was taught how to complete the most complex spells on the earth.

She told me how happy she was that they finally excepted her and how glad she was that she met me.

Within 4 days of meeting her, she told me she loved me.

I had been getting strange vibes from Melody for a while, but this was a definite red flag.

She was telling me about how we should mate together, how many children we should have, and how she planned on dropping out of her covenant to be with me. She promised that she would follow me to the ends of the earth.

Pretty weird to say to someone you met 4 days ago.

Anyway, I had as much Intel as I needed so I let her go. I told her the cold hard truth, how this was all a setup, how I didn't want her, and how crazy she was to assume that I would liver her in the short, short time that I've been with her.

She didn't take too kindly to that.

If I hadn't seen her crazy side yet, I saw it then. Her eyes swirled with anger and madness and she just smiled that creepy smile. That's when she made her deal. The deal where I take it back or she would raise hell on my world.

I didn't take her threat seriously. A day later, my soldiers went to attack the same location that Melody told me the hiding spot was. There was nothing. Not a person, a footprint, not a trace of magic or spells. Nothing. They were gone.

I guess that that was the day when Father turned his back on me.

From then on, I just assumed Melody was dead. Her name never came up again, so I thought that she just disappeared.

I had never wished death upon someone until now. Not my disproving father, not my cruel brother, not even idiotic Joesph.

But... as I saw the victorious smirk of the violet eyed witch herself. The raw feeling of pure unfiltered hate courses through my veins. I wished death upon her. The evil peice of shit in the blood stained pantsuit. I wished death upon this. The witch.

I gently put down my beautiful mate. Laying her down on the floor, far away from where the fight was about to take place. She didn't need to see this so up close and personal. She looked up at me, fear evident in her eyes. She tried to pull me to her, but nothing could stop me from exacting my vengeance.

By the time I stood up again, I was shaking. I had to clench my fists together and grit my teeth to stop from shifting. No, that would be too easy of a way out. Too quick. I wanted this one to suffer. I wasn't gonna kill her in wolf form.

No, she was gonna see my bright cheery face as I ripped her to peices. My mama always said to never lay your hands on a woman, but I think that she was willing to make an exception in this instant.

Melody was going to die on this day, and it would be me who would become her murderer.

With that thought, my lips peeled back into a snarl to let out thunderous roar. It was on.
