"What do you think this is about?" James asked after the six had left the great hall. He was holding hands with Lily, the other lazily messing up his hair. She still has yet to figure out why he likes it to be messy.

"Probably stuff about our career choices or something?" Abigail guessed, leaning into Sirius' side as he put an arm around her shoulders. As they finally reached the gargoyle, she stared into its unblinking eyes and said, "Sugar Quills." The gargoyle suddenly came alive, nodding its head before stepping aside to reveal a spiral staircase. They walked up the steps, finally entering the large, circular room with shelves lining the walls, all filled with books, scrolls, weird artifacts, and other random things. There were a bunch of paintings of various people, each most likely a previous Hogwarts headmaster.

"Ah, welcome. Sugar quill?" Dumbledore asked suddenly, standing up and holding a bowl of quills towards the group. Abigail smiled gratefully, plucking a strawberry quill from the bowl and placing it in her mouth. "I'm sure you're all wondering why I've called you here?" The Marauders nodded, looking to the Headmaster for an answer. "I've told a few other students about this but...I've founded an organization named the Order of the Phoenix. I'm only allowing my top performing students to join this group, as we'll be fighting Death Eaters and the like."

They all dropped into silence, the sugar quill almost falling from her hand as she fumbled around with it in her grasp.

"Who else is joining?" Lily asked, furrowing her brow.

"Alice and Frank Longbottom," they officially married a few weeks ago, "Dedalus Diggle, Dorcas Meadowes, Edgar Bones, Emmeline Vance, Fabian and Gideon Prewett," she always did like those brothers - a very funny pair, "and Marlene McKinnon."

"Who else is...already in the Order of the Phoenix?" Remus asked, raising an eyebrow.

"My brother Aberforth, Alastor Moody, an Auror, Arabella Figg, Benjy Fenwick, Caradoc Dearborn, Elphias Doge, Mundungus Fletcher, Rubeus Hagrid, and Sturgis Podmore. As well as myself and a few of the professors here at Hogwarts, of course."

"Why would you need students like us?" Sirius asked, crossing his arms and looking to the Headmaster in confusion.

"Well, you six are among the top performers at Hogwarts. One of you is a god, which could greatly help our cause, and all six of you have displayed phenomenal magical talent that rivals some of the Aurors who work at the Ministry. That is why I need students like you, Mrs. Evans." Dumbledore replied kindly, smiling at the six of them.

"And...should we join...what would happen?" Peter asked quietly, periodically glancing up at his friends.

"You would bring in information, assigned to fight in separate areas, among other things important to the demise of Voldemort and his followers," Dumbledore explained, looking to the six for an answer.

"Well, I for one would love to join! Of course, I'm not sure how much freedom I would be given to kill or otherwise hurt people by Heaven, but I'd still like to help any way I can." Abigail chirped with a smile.

"If she's in, I'm in." Lily and Sirius said at literally the same time.

"I'd follow Lily anywhere, so you know I'm in," James said next, resting an arm around Lily's shoulders.

"If these two tossers are in, I'm in as well," Remus replied with a grin, Peter nodding along as well.

"Excellent. I'll have to teach you all the code we use for letters, and I'll have to tell you the meeting points, but all of that can be arranged at a later date." The Marauders nodded in response. "Well, then I guess you all can leave. Have fun in the last two days, you six!" Dumbledore said with a smile, waving at them as they left the office down the spiral staircase.

Finally, however, it was time to go home. Abigail and Sirius walked hand-in-hand down the dirt path through the forest, talking about where they wanted to buy a house. Sirius wanted to live near James, but Abigail said that she wanted to live somewhere near a forest - so if Thor or Loki ever wanted to visit her, they would have a safe place to come down. They eventually ended up with a compromise - they would buy a house a bit near wherever James and Lily chose to live and just put charms up around the backyard so muggles wouldn't be able to see the Bifrost.

"Hey, guys?" Sirius said suddenly, the four other Marauders turning around to face him. "You go on up ahead, I wanna talk to Abigail about something...in private." They all nodded, and she could swear she saw Lily and James smirk and wink at Sirius before they left to the train. "Here, come with me." Sirius gave her a small smile, holding her hand and starting to lead her further into the forest.

He finally halted in the familiar clearing near the little stream, taking both of her hands in his and staring down into her neon green eyes. "You love me...right?" Sirius asked quietly as if he was unsure of her answer.

She laughed, grinning before saying, "That's a silly question, love."

"Good...good..." He took a deep breath, finally continuing. "Abby, with the war, I don't know if you'd want to do this, but I think we'd be good together. And, I just want you to know that no matter what happens to us, I will always love you." And with that, he reached into his pocket and took out a small, velvet box before slowly lowering himself to one knee. Her heart was racing so fast, she thought it might beat right out of her chest. "Abigail Lorian...will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" He opened up the box, revealing a silver ring with small diamonds running up the sides. On top was a diamond shaped emerald wrapped in silver vines.

She stayed silent for a few seconds, mostly out of shock than anything else. Finally, however, she grinned and nodded eagerly. Sirius let out a breath, taking the ring out of the box and slipping it onto her ring finger. She threw her arms around him, pressing her lips to his. For the moment, everything was perfect.

But in any good book, perfect moments are always followed by devastation.
