One Of A Kind
Chapter Eight

~ Sage Preston's POV ~
My parents don't use technology. They need help using the computer, they don't know how to work their phones and they defiantly don't know anything about social media. I mean, yeah, they have Facebook pages but my Dad's profile picture is a zoomed up photo of himself that's posted like 8 times and my Mom does nothing but share minion memes and post about how great her children are doing.
So how they found that stupid post one Personal Viewpoint, I don't know.
My day started off normally. I woke up, brought my friends to school, argued with Benjamin a little, spent 8 hours in grueling classes, went to hockey practice, took my friends home and made my way to the ice rink with May and Piper.
I like to practice alone some days on the ice and May didn't want to go home without me, so her and Piper joined me. We were in the car when we found out about the article.
"Hey, Sage? Promise not to crash the car?" Piper said from the backseat.
"What?" I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Well I found something online about you" Piper said and I was about to ask what it was until... "And Benjamin"
"Oh god" I groaned. "Is it that girl, Wendy's, blog thing?"
"Mhm" Piper hummed.
"Read it!" May gasped. "You're like famous sis"
"Shut up" I rolled my eyes.
"Okay. Star-Crossed Lovers by Wendy Underland" Piper said and I gagged. "Shh"
"Okay-okay" I rolled my eyes.
"Since Saturday our little town has been buzzing over the news that Sage Preston and Benjamin Prescott went out on a date to the Viewpoint Movie Night. I decided to take initiative and talk to the one and only Sage Preston, to put the rumors to rest" Piper read. "Shall I continue?"
"Yes!" May squealed and I shrugged.
"I knew from the very beginning of my interview that Sage was hiding something. She seemed tense and tried to steer our conversation away by asking personal questions" Piper snickered and I rolled my eyes. "From what I gathered, they were on a date. They had a picnic in the park before watching the Fast and Furious movie that was playing in the park. This blogger can tell you that- oh my god"
"What?" I cringed. What did this girl say?
"Oh my god! Oh my god! Speak babe! Speak" May squealed and I furrowed my eyebrows at her.
"Miss. Preston and Mr. Prescott cuddled for warmth in italics underneath a blanket" Piper cackled.
"Ew. What the hell?" I glanced back at Piper.
"Wait there's more! The date ended with a sweet kiss to the forehead-"
"Kiss to the forehead?!?! You mean when he slammed his lips against my eyeball?!-"
"Shut up! I'm not done! I got the gist that their parents do not know about their relationship. That's right! Viewpoint has our own Romeo and Juliet love story! This is a sad day for the girls of Westview high. Your adorable and desirable, Benjamin Prescott, is off the market!" Piper finished and I crinkled my nose.
"I really hate my life" I mumbled.
They annoyed me all the way to the ice rink and I thanked god when they dissapeeard and I was able to skate without anyone bothering me. I hoped that I could skate for a few hours and block out all of the Benjamin drama.
