Waiting (KeithXReader)

   You started dating Keith about 4 months before Shiro disappeared, this is important because before the Kerberos mission Keith spent as much time as he could with you. He listened to your problems and cared for you, he treated you better then any other, until Shiro disappeared. True you knew about Keith's situation with his family and how shiro was all he had left, but when he disappeared Keith was never around, he never called or texted you, you felt neglected and alone, then he got kicked from the Garrison. To be honest you though Keith had forgot about you and that left a bitter taste in your mouth, it felt like a break up and to you it was once he stoped talking to you all together, and now you find your self stuck in a castle in freaking space of all places with this mullet headed jerk.

   You sit in the training deck and watch as the Paladins preform the bonding exercise with the head bands and seeing into each other's mind.

   "Y/N why don't you join the Paladins this time! To strengthen your bonds with your fellow team mates! After all you will be stuck with them for who knows how long!" Allura chimes on the mic while the Paladins sit in a circle.

   "I think that's a great idea Allura. I'll get another head set!" You hear coran say while he sits in the viewing platform.

   "I'm good allura, I'll just watch." You comment leaning on the wall and cross your arms.

   "I think Allura's right Y/N. You should join this time." Shiro smiles and pats the spot to his right, right next to Keith.

   "I don't think this is necessary." You roll your sigh, you liked Shiro sure but you still hold some slight resentment towards him, not enough to hate him.

    "Here Y/N!" Coran bursts into the training deck and practically throws the head set/band thing in your direction.

   "I guess you don't have a choose!" Lance teases you, Lance knows about your situation with Keith and yet he's still making you do this!

   "I guess not." You grumble and sit on the other side on shiro, and next to pidge, you ignore Keith completely.

   "Alright! Everyone close your eyes, this time we are just going to leave things out in the open! Trust each other with your thoughts! Don't hold anything back from each other, this is a safe space!" Coran instructs and you do as told, closing your eyes.

   You first think of your house, how could you not. You Haven't really visited your family or talked to them in a long time, this led you to think of your family. Then something changed, your mind started to drift to Keith... why Keith! If all the people! But you still find your mind wondering there. You start to lay all your feeling out about the whole situation to every one in the room, but you never noticed because you were to warped up in the moments till some one spoke.

   "I'm sorry, I never meant for you to feel that way." Keith apologizes, but this pisses you off.

   "So now you apologize! Even though you had a whole year, a whole Fucking year to say that! And you know what!? I waited, I waited for so long to hear those words and to hear you wanted me! and you know what! I never heard those words, not once!" You accuse, shouting and standing up, glaring daggers at Keith.

   "Y/N, calm down." shiro tries to calm you.

   "No Shiro! Oh have no place to tell me to calm down when you were reason for this!" You shout at shiro throwing off the head set thing to the ground.

   "Y/N stop." Lance also tries to stop you from shouting.

   "Oh!? So now your taking their side even thought I felt like absolute shit after what they did to me!?" You now start shouting at Lance, some one who you though was your friend, luckily Hunk and Pidge knew to stay out of this.

   "I just..." Keith starts.

   "You just, what! Had to look for the only family you had left!? What about me! What was I to you!" You yell in Keith's face.

   "Y/N, that's enough!" Shiro shouts, getting everyone's attention. You look to shiro, holding back tears from your out burst. Then you walk out before Shiro could say anything.

   "Y/N!" Keith shouts after you but Lance puts his arm out to stop him.

   "I'm sure you have done enough to Y/N, Keith, leave them be."

   "But-!" Keith tries to protest till pidge pipes in.

   "You saw how Y/N felt when you started looking for Shiro, and I'm pretty sure you felt it to."

   "I didn't know what to do! And they didn't tell me how the felt!" Keith shouts then lets out a frustrated groan.

   "I think that's enough for today, let's all head to the dinning room for lunch, shall we?" Allura asks from the observation deck. Everyone nods and heads to eat. Mean while you stay in your room, it saddens Keith that you didn't show up.

   Later that night keith finally decided it was time to talk with you. Keith walked to your door and knocked.

   "Come in." You called, probably Lance coming to talk to you.

   "Hey... Y/N" Keith hesitantly enters the room.

   "Oh, it you." You stand up from sitting on the bed and cross your arms.

   "Listen, Y/N. I-" you raise your hand to stop Keith.

   "If you're here to apologize, I don't want to hear it." You clearly state.

   "Then what am I supposed to do, how can I make it up to you." Keith pleads, this breaks your heart to see, but he broke yours first.

   You turn your back on Keith "now please get out." You sternly state, the. Keith warps his arms around you, you turn around and push his away.

   "Don't! Touch me!" You shout.

   "I can't hold my lover?" Keith sadly questions backing away.

   "What the hell do you mean." You snarl at him.

   "What I mean is that I never broke up with you, and that I still love you." Keith holds out his arms "I know that was I did was rude, and I'm a jerk for doing that to you, and I am so sorry for making you feel that way. Can you forgive me?" Keith asks with his arms out for a hug. You have waited for this for forever, but you won't let your self be pulled in and left alone again.

   "How can I trust you'll stay this time..." you look to Keith, hope sitting in your soul knowing that you may get the love of your life back.

   "Because I love you, that has never changed." Keith takes a step or two toward you still holding out his hands.

   "Even when you were looking for Shiro you question.

   "Even when I was looking for Shiro." Keith answers with a small smile. At Keith's response and smile you immediately hug Keith.

   "I have waited so long to hear these words." You slowly sob into Keith shoulder.

   "I know." Keith kisses the top of your head.
