Maya

I never expected my own words to hurt me so much, it feels like a thousand knives just pierced through my heart. I can feel the hot tears already welling up in my eyes again. I look at him and I regret every word I said, but we both know my words are the truth. Even if we want to deny them and fight about them, in the end they are still true. I break eye contact, wanting to look anywhere else but him because it only broke my shattered heart even more.

"Don't do this Maya. We can work everything out." He said reaching for my hand.

I moved it. I didn't want to get to attached. I can't be with the enemy. Not even if I wanted to. It was like Romeo and Juliet but changed the names to Xerxes and Kyl'maya.

"Maybe we could, but I don't know. The feud between our packs has been going on longer than we have been alive. I don't think us being mates will matter. I'm sorry."

I turned away quickly and hurried to the hotel. I felt his eyes burning into my back and I wanted so badly to turn around and jump into his arms. Cry into his shoulder and complain about how stupid this is. I knew this would happen. All I did was wipe my tears.

It doesn't have to be this way you know.

My wolf's voice rang out in my head. I didn't respond. I couldn't. She was right in a way but I was just so scared of what would happen. How would my mom react? My dad? My uncle? My brother? My cousin?

"Hey, can I get my room number? My name is Maya Rosé." I asked the Omega wild that was sitting at the front desk.

"Kyl'maya?" She asked

"Yes." I replied not liking my full first name being used.

"Room 312, it'll be on the third floor. Here's your room key." She handed me a card and signed me in.

"Thank you." I said taking the card out of her hands. I noticed the burn marks on her wrist and lower arm but I didn't say anything.

I used the elevator to get to my room. It was the last door on the hall. I put the card through the scanner and the light blinked green and the door clicked open.

The room was just how you would imagine a luxury hotel. A large bed with pristine white covers, big enough to fit three people. A beautiful bathroom with mahogany walls and marble tiles. An oak wood dresser with four drawers. A flat screen tv hanging on the wall with a table under it holding the dish box and remotes as well as a DVD player and a few movies. Beside the bed was a small table with a beautifully designed lamp. At the end of the bed all of my bags and suitcases were set up neatly.

Get your behind down to the pool now! It's huge and everyone's down here! I met my mate but it's a long story.

Lucy linked me.

I'll change first and meet you down there. I met mine too but it's not what I expected.

You'll have to tell me everything later tonight over ice cream and horror movies.

Of course, and the same goes for you.

After that I closed my link and fished out my two piece. It was white with gold beads attached to the strings. Nothing too fancy but it wasn't exactly plain either.

I put my hair up into a messy top knot bun before slipping into the swim suit. It fit nicely.

I grabbed a towel and some lip gloss and threw it in a small bag with my key card. Then I left out the room. When I got to the elevator I pushed the up button since the pool is on the roof.
