Chapter 11

Aurodon
Nelani POV

I woke up with a massive headache. The room I was in was bright. Too bright. As my vision came back into focus, I noticed yellow and blue banners and wooden panalled walls and floors. I was not on the Isle.
This isn't happening.

I sit bolt upright and look around frantically.
I am not in Aurodon. No. Impossible.
But then I see him. The last person on earth that I want to see.
"Jay?" I ask. He doesn't move. The idiot was actually sleeping. I throw off the covers and swing my legs out of bed. I pull on my boots which were beside the bed and stride over to the door, where I see my hat and swords.
"Lani?" Someone mumbles. I turn around and see Jay, now standing, with a hurt look on his face.
"I'm leaving." I say.
"And where will you go?" He replies.
"The isle, of course." I say.
"And how do you plan on getting there?" He replies with an annoying smirk on his face.
"Well there's got to be a way, you got over and back." I say.
"Too bad you don't know." Jay says.
"Do you know me, big brother? I always manage to find a way." I smile and leave the room, sprint down the corridor and realise that I have no idea where I am. Jay has the upper hand, and I need to get out of this building. No one else has seen me yet, for the best, of course, if any prissy princess were to find me I'd be dead. I make it to the end of the corridor and find myself at the top of a staircase.
"Lani! Wait!" I hear Jay yell. I slide down the banister before I knock into someone.
"Ouch! Hey watch it!" A girls shrill voice yells. She looks at me and I sigh. "Nelani?"
"Don't say a thing to Jay, Evie." I order.
"Wait! Nelani!" She cries. But I've already started to run. Out of the building, past a large fountain and next to a sign.
Aurodon Prep: goodness doesn't get any better.
These people and their goodness values, makes me sick. I follow the road next to the sign to a pair of golden gates and sprint out of Aurodon Prep. I could vaguely hear Jay yelling my name and telling me to stop. I run and run and run. But as I keep running, I realise something.

I am trapped without a way to go home.

Isle of the Lost
Harry POV

Sitting in the chip shop I feel devastated. I couldn't believe that Mal managed to trick us all and then that blistering eejit Jay managed to take my Lassie. She was alone in Aurodon and I couldn't do anything about it. Uma was a mess. She had been particularly nasty the last couple of days, but without a plan, she was lost. I hated to admit it, but I felt lost too. It's my fault she's gone. I couldn't get up to her in time, trying to fight off the king. And then Evie threw that last smoke bomb and they all got away when Mal pushed down the bridge, Jay holding my Lassie in his arms.

"Harry." Uma called to me. I looked up and she sat down next to me.
"This sounds ridiculous, but I have an idea."
"Spill." I say.
"The Royal Cotillion is in a few days. We need a way that we can get to Aurodon and get Nelani back and bring down the barrier once and for all." Uma says. "That's where you come in."
"Yeah? An' what part do I have?" I ask.
"You were born in Neverland. You must have a way to get over there and get us from Neverland to Aurodon." Uma says.
"Dad's ship. It could work. The infamous Jolly Roger, only problem is he's the only one on this god dammed island that knows where it is." I said. Uma tilted her head.
"Are you sure he's the only one who knows about it?" Uma asked.
"Yeah. He's the only one from his original crew alive..." I trailed off. Smee. Of course. I smack myself internally. She grins at me widely. "But even if we get over to Neverland, fairy dust is in the centre of the island and Pan wouldn't let just anyone near it. It's going to be heavily guarded."
"We'll figure it out." Uma says. "This isn't just for Mal. This is for Nelani. She's trapped and we need to bring her home before she's too much like the rest of them."
"Okay. I'll talk to Smee."
